The man in the black suit looked at it calmly for a while, then looked away, took out a cigarette from the cigarette case, put it under his nose and sniffed it, his expression was dull.
"Why, you're not interested in the banquet held for you?"
The man turned around and saw it.
An elderly and energetic old man walked behind him. The old man was wearing a buttoned-up Tang suit, his silver hair was meticulously combed back, and his eyes were shining.
The man held the cigarette in his hand but did not smoke it. He turned around and looked back at the endless flow of people in the banquet hall.
"I have no intention of going down."
Shi Lao quickly walked to him and stood with him looking at the 'scenery' below: "Many people want to see you now."
"They know that I want to hand over the property that I took back from Mu Qingtian to your management, and they are gearing up to get to know you, the upstart."
The man was not interested and responded calmly: "Whether I am a new rich person or not is not a matter of your words. You can lift me to the sky today and throw me into the mud tomorrow."
The old man glanced sideways at him, as if observing the expression on his face and trying to figure out his true thoughts deep inside.
The gaze was really sharp and unpleasant, as if a slippery hand was touching the brow bone inch by inch, feeling uncomfortable all over the face.
The man just didn't react at all under such gaze, as if he didn't feel the scrutiny, consideration and calculation under his eyes.
Finally, the old man looked away and continued what he said before: "I stopped it for you."
"Hmm." The man was noncommittal, holding the filter of the cigarette with his eyes down, pinching the tip of his finger to the bursting point, and a soft mint aroma burst into the air.
The old man's eyes were drawn back from below, and when he saw that he was still playing with the cigarette, he frowned, walked over, put his hands on the man's shoulders and patted him twice: "Stop smoking and pay attention to your health."
This sudden concern made the surrounding air warm.
The man's eyelashes were drooping, and he could not tell whether he was moved or not. He followed his words and walked away, cut off the cigarette and threw it into the trash can.
