The old man’s tribulation lightning was in fact getting stronger by a realm each time. On the 6th one, they were now at Immortal Spirit 5th realm of strength. The old man could still handle it quite easily, so there was nothing for them to worry about.Bladedance turned toward Alex, scanning his body with her Divine sense. "Do you want to break through right now?" she asked. "After my tribulation is over, the Qi in the area will be thick enough for you to break through."
Alex considered it for a second but shook his head anyway. "No, but thank you for the opportunity, master."
Bladedance raised an eyebrow. "Such an opportunity doesn’t come so easily, you know?"
"I know," Alex said. "But I can’t do it just yet. I haven’t prepared myself and the next breakthrough is going to put me through an Inner Demon."
Alex said as much, but he had a weird feeling he didn’t have to worry about it. Just like he had skipped it all those years ago when he broke through from the Immortal Ascendant realm to the Immortal Origin realm.
Or that time when Whisker broke through to the Immortal realm, and he had to bear the tribulation, and yet he could ignore the Inner Demon too.
’Now that I think about it, Whisker reached Immortal Origin while he was in my Soul Space. Why doesn’t he have to deal with an Inner Demon, or if that passes to me, why don’t I have to deal with it?’
The question concerned Alex.
"Do you have other plans then?" Bladedance asked. "If you can deal with your Inner Demon right now, I can delay for a few days."
"No, master," Alex said. "I will have another moment soon. Or at least I hope I will have one soon."
Bladedance narrowed her eyes. "What do you mean?"
"My Daos, master. I’ve learned so much while in Hell, but I’ve yet to learn a Dao. If I push a little further or learn a bit more, I’m no doubt going to learn the Daos, right?" Alex asked. "At that point, the heaven will descend just as they do when I break through, and I will use that opportunity."
Bladedance’s eyes widened slightly. "You haven’t learned any Dao?" she asked. "Not even in those 50 years you were missing?"
Alex shook his head. "I only have those 16 Daos from before. If I’m not mistaken, I’ll learn 3 more at the very least."
Bladedance was stumped for a few long seconds. "...at the very least, you say."
"Yes. I will no doubt learn the Dao of Time Awareness, the Dao of Spatial Contraction, and the Dao of Spatial Distortion. If I’m lucky, I’ll learn the Dao of Time as well. If I’m more lucky, there’s the Dao of Temporal Swiftness and Temporal Stagnation too. But I don’t know how good of a chance I have there."
Bladedance remained silent for a while before sighing. "You speak of them so casually; it almost makes me jealous. I barely learned the Dao of Sharpness in time before I reached the Immortal realm and learned the Dao of Cutting afterward. Those are the only ones I know, and sadly the only ones I’ll ever know."
Alex turned to Bladedance, wanting to ask if she lacked talent perhaps. But then, it was almost certain she did. She was about as talented as Whisker was since they were both only capable of consuming only half a fruit.
