Alex checked through each ingredient at least 3 times in order to make sure he wasn’t going mad. He checked through the leaves, the roots, the barks, the flowers, and everything else that was around him, and yet he knew the name of not a single one of them."How... how can this be?" Alex thought.
The possibility of this happening was there. It had always been there in the back of his mind ever since he became an Immortal and learned about the White Canvas flower that he didn’t immediately recognize.
But he had yet to find another such ingredient in all the time, and part of that was in an alchemy competition. So Alex could be reasonably certain that he was likely not going to find another ingredient that the Alchemy God did not know about.
And yet, there it was, right in front of him.
Not just one, but more than a dozen.
"What is going on?"
He had no doubt gathered these ingredients from whatever place he had been to because he knew he did not recognize them. Had he studied them back then, or did he know he would forget it all so he left it for himself to study later?
"How can there be ingredients I don’t know about though," Alex thought. "Did the Alchemy God’s knowledge not contain these all?"
If the Alchemy God had been alive some 200 thousand years ago and he had prepared his inheritance back then, then any plants that came to be after that time would have information missing from his mind.
But that was not the case. He knew every single plant out there, except for these few.
In which case, Alex could only think of two possibilities.
First, the Alchemy God’s inheritance was capable of adding on more information to itself as time went on, which had stopped after Alex gained it. These few ingredients must’ve then grown after that time.
But that was too far-fetched a possibility for Alex to consider true. If it was true, then there still should have been more plants out there he didn’t know about.
But there weren’t, so the first possibility was out of the question.
Which left him with the second possibility, which was that the ingredients he gathered from whatever place he had been to were never before seen by the Alchemy God.
The Alchemy God should not have ever been to that place, which was why there were ingredients that he didn’t know about.
"But wait, the Alchemy God did know there were ingredients he didn’t know about," Alex thought. "The White Canvas Daisy was something that had information missing, which means he wanted to let me know that he didn’t have all the information."
Alex frowned. "Does that mean he went where I went too?" he thought. It was so difficult to think about.
"And wait, it has been 200 thousand years since he died, so why are there no other new ingredients out there? How come in all the lands I’ve been to, the plants have been stagnant with no evolution?"
Did plants not change whatsoever even with time’s passing?
