Chapter 2899: Scattered DebrisThe space inside the Void wasn’t the same as the space outside. Even if one remained stationary, the Void itself would’ve moved around them so much that they would be in a completely different location, moving leagues away from where they were before.
And it wasn’t straightforward either. Space twisted and turned, extended and shrunk. Time did the same, moving in a manner that defied common understanding of its flow.
And the last thing that persisted throughout it was gravity.
It wasn’t gravity that existed, but rather its aura. It did not pull one in a certain direction like it did to the aura of space and time.
Alex moved with his fingers on the pulse of this world, his mind analyzing each change. As he moved away from Hell, he felt the gravitational aura from all directions.
It came from just one, and not as strong as Hell. But then, he was further away from this world, so he had to move closer.
Alex weaved through the Void, finding regions that were safe to travel through, avoiding ones that would destroy him. As he traveled, he felt the gravity increase very slowly.
Whatever the closest world was, it couldn’t be that large based on the aura Alex perceived.
But any world was better than the Void, so Alex went toward it.
He could tell time was passing. To him, it only felt like no more than half a day had passed since he left Hell, but in reality nearly a year had already passed.
There were times when he had to move through regions with slowed-down time that had taken up so much time. If he was better, he would probably have been able to avoid those, but sadly he could not.
As his journey continued, Alex got closer and closer to this world, feeling the gravity slowly increase. There would surely come a point where the gravity would stop increasing, at which point he would know that he had arrived at the world.
However, such a thing never happened. As he continued, the gravity continued increasing more and more. Another day had passed, this time spanning only half a month, before Alex stopped.
The gravity continued to increase, and this time had gotten stronger than what was at Hell itself.
He had been so focused on navigating this world and coming out of it that he had missed the simplest of facts.
The greatest source of gravity in his world was none other than the sun.
‘Shit!’ Alex thought. ‘I’m moving toward the sun.’
It would have been terrible had he realized that any later. If he had opened a way back outside right there, he would’ve likely been killed instantly by the heat of the sun.
His current cultivation base would’ve been unable to protect him in any manner.
Relieved, Alex began moving away from the sun. However, it wasn’t as easy as it was coming here. Most space and time around him was warped toward the sun, so finding routes outside of it was tedious.
Still, there were routes. Not the best kind, but they were routes.
Alex traveled 5 years in what felt like no more than 2 hours.
It was bad, but at least he had made it away from the sun, so space and time would soon be kinder.
Alex found another route before him and moved toward it. However, before he reached there, something caught his attention.
His senses had touched onto something. Something physical. He turned around and saw something floating toward him.
A tree.
