With both the tree and the Guardian Tiger suggesting the same thing, Alex began to firmly believe that the best course of action going ahead was to absorb as many Sunhearts as he could.

Anything else was less of a priority now that he understood there was a chance at getting rid of the seal. The damn seal had been annoying him for close to a century now, so he would want nothing more than to get rid of it.

Even if it took him another century to do so, he would gladly do it.

As for leaving this world, he would have to find some other way. Maybe once he gained full control of his Soul Space and Spiritual Sea, he could help Bladedance become stronger too.

At that point, she would hopefully help him escape.

"I will do that," Alex told the two. "Until then, you’ll have to wait before I can take away your seeds."

"I can wait," the tree said. "Have a fruit for now. It will take you some time to get through it anyway. You can come for the rest when you are ready."

Alex heard the snap of a branch. He looked up and saw one of the fruits falling toward them. It fell with great speed, but as it got close to the ground, it slowed, coming to a gentle stop.

Alex looked at the fruit with wide eyes. It had been large up above on the branch, but he simply had no reference for its size. Looking at it right in front of him, it looked unreal.

The reddish-yellow fruit was nearly double his height and wide enough that it was thicker than the vines he saw growing down from the tree. The shape was one in between an apple and a pumpkin, with segments seemingly built onto the fruit.

Alex had an awkward smile on his face, looking at the fruit. Thankfully, he had a storage bag he had brought along. Without it, he could not have stored the fruit in anything.

"I will take this, thank you," Alex said.

"I will await your return," the tree said. "Please come back when you’ve got rid of your seal."

"I will."

Alex finally let go of the tree, the connection fading away.

"Please consume the fruit bit by bit," the cub said. "You are too weak to eat all of it at once. You’ll have to take your time with it, or it will destroy your body."

Alex raised an eyebrow upon hearing that. "Is it that powerful?"

"It improves your body in ways neither of us understand," the cub said. "The fruits the humans used to eat came from a tree that had yet to grow. And even those helped them enough that generations later the fruit’s effects carried on to their descendants. This one is much more powerful than that."

"I see," Alex said, the cub’s words making some sense to him.

He remembered the past, the words making more sense to him now than ever.

The demons had a stronger body in general. That was what Bai Jingshen had told him all those years ago. He remembered it clearly now.

It wasn’t physique or body constitution. Demons had a stronger body overall than humans did.

That had to come from either this fruit or the Elixir.

’Hell must’ve been one of the demon realms,’ Alex thought. ’They must’ve supplied fruits out of here, which is why all the demons were strong.’

The humans had chopped down the World Tree because the demons were using it to gain Qi to cultivate. He could only imagine what they would’ve done to the Tree of Life had they known of its existence.

Perhaps, they would’ve gone for it far sooner than they had gone for the World Tree.

Or perhaps, if the Tree of Life had never been separated from the rest of the world in Hell, the demons would have gained the victory instead.

The presence of the Tree of Life was enough to change the tides of war. Its absence had been devastating to the demons.

Alex looked toward the old man who was still in talk with the tree. Alex had no way of telling what they were conversing about, so he could only wait now.

Bladedance walked over to him, looking at the fruit. "What is this tree?" she asked. "And why did it suddenly drop this fruit?"

"It is for him to consume," the cub said. "You do not need to know any further."

Bladedance frowned at the cub’s words, but didn’t speak any further. She was not going to antagonize a Primordial at this moment, even if it was only a memory of one.

Alex looked at the cub for a moment, some questions forming in his head. "Do you happen to know about the White Tigers?" he asked. "They were said to be your descendants that were later blessed with different powers."

Bladedance’s eyes narrowed. "You know a lot for a mere Immortal," she said in a curious tone. "How did you hear all of this?"

"Godslayer," Alex said without batting an eye. There were many things he could now just attribute to Godslayer without having to reveal any other information.

Bladedance accepted the reason without questioning it any further. Instead, it worked further as evidence that Godslayer had in fact reformed if he could give out information like this.

The cub turned its head toward Alex. "I know of the White Tiger. We were present when all of the five beasts were blessed. Why do you ask?"

"I have a young White Tiger bonded to me, and I would like to ask if you could do anything to help him," Alex said.

"A White Tiger is bonded to you?" the cub asked in surprise. "He is lucky then."

"Well, I am the lucky one instead," Alex said.

The cub smiled. "I cannot help you without learning much about the White Tiger directly. Would you mind calling him out?"

Alex frowned. "He’s stuck in my Soul Space."

"Is that so?" the cub asked. "Open your Soul Space then. Let me go take a look in myself."
