Chapter 2832: Bladedance
Alex could hardly believe what he had just heard. And yet, at the same time, nothing else could’ve ever made sense.
Death was a Sword God. Who else could have such talent with their sword?
“Bladedance…” Alex said softly. “I’ve never heard of her before. Was she the god before Purplerain?”
“Purplerain was a Sword Sage, from what I remember,” Godslayer said. “He only became a Sword God during the time I was imprisoned. She must’ve been gone for a long time, so he took her place as the Sword God.”
“Is she… strong?” Alex asked. The question felt stupid to even ask; of course, she was strong. But he didn’t know what else to ask.
“She’s one of the only few people in the world to reach the Celestial realm. That alone makes her stronger than everyone else in the world,” Godslayer said. “But even more than that, her talent with the sword is unlike any before her. I remember meeting her a few times. She once used a sword I made myself. She was strong then, but now she must be even stronger.”
Alex was in awe.
Just then, the former Sword God turned, looking toward him.
“Who are you?” she asked. “And why did you have my sword?”
Alex froze. He wasn’t expecting to have to answer her so quickly. “I… I…” He wanted to answer, but he had to first think through what he wanted to reveal and what he wanted to keep.
A slash appeared on his left arm, fresh blood spilling from him. There was no warning or indication of an attack. The wound had just appeared all on its own.
“Answer me,” the woman spoke in a serious voice. “Where is Godslayer?”
That was what Alex had been afraid of. She knew her sword held Godslayer, so without Godslayer in it, she could only question where he had gone.
Alex’s arm was suddenly lopped off, flying further beyond him. He couldn’t even pay that any attention as Bladedance began approaching him.
“Tell her the truth,” Godslayer said.
Alex complied immediately. “He’s with me. He’s in my Spiritual Sea,” he answered.
“No, tell her more.”
But Alex didn’t have the chance. His head suddenly slipped down his body. He died from an attack he didn’t even notice.
Bladedance waited to see what would happen. Godslayer, as a sword, would either try to entice the closest person or fly away. She needed to make sure he did neither.
But to her horror, Godslayer didn’t do anything. Instead, Alex’s head, which was right next to the body, moved back to the neck and reattached.
Alex gasped as he took a breath, coming back to life.
Bladedance’s eyes were wide in surprise.
“How did you do that?” she asked with a curious expression. “Have you gained new powers since we last saw each other?”
She thinks I’m Godslayer?
Alex slowly got up and began stepping back. This was bad. The seal around his Spiritual Sea had come back up when he died. He attempted to open the seal again, but Bladedance swung her sword and Alex died again.
His head rolled off, this time further away from where it had first been.
Alex came back to life again, next to something hard in the sand. He felt it and found the sharpness.
