Alex waited until late afternoon before deciding to head down. He had prepared everything he would need to go to the depths of Hell.
A technique that let him travel through the rocky surface.
A bunch of decaying Sunhearts that would keep him warm if he couldn't handle the Yin.
And an infected Beast core that would turn into a Sun Wraith.
In the worst-case scenario, if the Yin was too much for him to handle, the Sun Wraith would form, which would give him enough heat to hopefully give him a small window to get out of the frigid Yin.
He didn't think he would need it all, but he prepared for it nonetheless.
He had also waited until late afternoon when the Yin at the depths of Hell would be at an all-time low.
With so much preparation done, Alex believed he would succeed in finding the answer to a question he had for the longest time now.
Whisker was in his Beast Space for now and would leave when Alex was deep within the sludge. Whisker would be another safety net for him should other things fail.
Now that everything was set up, Alex dove into the sand.
His Earth Movement technique activated, making him feel like a fish in water. He slid down the sand with no friction at all and soon arrived at solid ground. Even there, he managed to slip inside the rocks, traveling through the ground to deep underground.
The rock became thicker and thicker as he traveled, requiring him to use more and more of his Qi to continue using the technique. But compared to how much Qi he had in his body, it was a minuscule amount.
After traveling for a few minutes, Alex arrived at the location Whisker had explained to him about. The solid rocks suddenly became porous, with holes as large as giant halls.
Alex concealed everything about himself as he went into those holes, filled to the brim with sludge. This was what was filled with Elixir, but this high up, it wouldn't have nearly enough Elixir at all.
He would have to go deeper.
Alex was surprised at the number of beasts in the vicinity. Even as he traveled just a few paces downward, he could already see dozens of beasts. These beasts would not live one second around each other when they went up at night, but down here, it was like a colony of well-mannered beasts.
Alex looked through them, but he continued downward. At some point, he brought out Whisker and had him stay there.
Whisker stayed away as Alex asked. The place was going to be filled with Yin in a few hours, so he couldn't be caught off-guard like he had last time.
As Alex went deeper, he felt the coldness seep into his body. It was a strong Yin, one he hadn't sensed in Hell ever since his arrival so many years ago.
He considered it for a bit and came to the realization that he hadn't sensed Yin this strong for a long time even before that. The strongest Yin he had sensed was from Fairy Xin, who had attacked him during the tournament, so it had been a while.
