"The three battleships aimed at Karyk simultaneously and fired in unison. Bright beams of light shot out from the ships, illuminating the dark space. Everything in the path of the beams, including the asteroids, was blown to smithereens.

"Young Lord, you don’t have to worry about that person. He will never be able to trouble you again," the envoy proudly claimed before his Young Lord, as if he had accomplished some truly great feat.

The three youngsters also gazed into the distance, wondering if this was really the end. Even though their ships weren’t from the Destroyer Class like the Time Lord’s vessel, they were still formidable. If three such ships were to attack together, the combined force could easily obliterate a small world.

It seemed highly likely that Karyk was actually dead. If that was the case, they could deliver this good news to the young Time Lord and make him happier.

They looked quite pleased with their subordinates’ actions. Just because the Time Lord had warned them about Karyk, they had forgotten they were no longer inside that hellish world, and their first instinct had been to flee.

If it weren’t for their envoys’ wise decision to attack, they might never have even considered the possibility that they could use the ships to kill him.

"You did very well. I am pleased with your quick thinking. I will try to ensure that you are not punished for your previous actions!"

The envoys had been worried about their fates, but after seeing their young masters’ reaction, they could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Their chances of survival had increased. They were even silently thanking Karyk for appearing out of nowhere and giving them this opportunity.

"Thank y—" The envoy lowered his head respectfully, intending to thank their young lords, but before he could utter the last word, he felt something strange.

He saw the shocked expression of the Young Lord, who was pointing in his direction while trembling.

He saw the Young Lord moving aside, as if he were floating in space. Even their ships seemed to be drifting away.

It took him a moment to realize that their young lord wasn’t moving away. It was he who was moving away. Or rather, it was his head moving away, while the rest of his body remained behind.

He saw a figure appear behind their young master, like a phantom. It was the same person that they thought to have killed already.

He couldn’t even utter a single word as darkness flashed before his eyes. He was devoured by the endless abyss, much like the other envoys who had met the same fate.

Karyk killed all three envoys, and devoured them to gain their memories. Meanwhile, the three youngsters were left trembling as they looked at the young man behind them.

They couldn’t even tell the ships to attack him, since they were right next to him. Moreover, they didn’t even have a communication device to contact the ships.

"I don’t think we will need three of them," Karyk said before looking at the young man who had been leading the group of three in the Aetherian Realm.

In the memories of the envoys, he came to learn more about the family background of the three people. Even if none of them were from a major clan, the young man appeared to have the strongest clan of the three.

Darkness came flying from his shadow, and wrapped around the throats of the three youngsters like a poisonous snake.

They wondered if Karyk was going to kill them or use them to blackmail their families. Instead, they saw him conjure two black shadows as his swords.

Karyk swung the two swords, each aimed at one of the ships. The youngsters wondered if he was a fool. Did he really think he could attack the ships? Even if it wasn’t the strongest class, it was still a treasure of their families.

Let alone a shadow sword, even a treasured sword couldn’t slice through the ships. At least that’s what they thought until they saw him slash with his shadow swords. Continue reading stories on .Côm

The effect was immediate and utterly terrifying, as if the space itself was split apart as the abyssal energy rushed forth towards the ship. The two targeted battleships, made from advanced technology and hardened alloys, offered less resistance than butter to a hot knife.

The first shadow sword sliced cleanly through the bow of the battleship, cleaving it in two as if it were made of paper. The second sword, in a mirror image of the first strike, carved through the engine core of the other vessel.

It resulted in a chain of explosions as the debris flew in all directions. The force of the blasts flung chunks of twisted metal and mangled machinery across space.

The three youngsters, still bound by the shadow chains, could only watch in abject horror. Their eyes were wide open, reflecting the fiery explosions of their family’s prized vessels. Their mouths hung open, forming silent screams that were lost to the vacuum.

"Impossible..." the lead youngster managed to choke out, his voice barely a whisper. "How...?"

The sheer scale of the destruction defied all logic, all understanding. These weren’t just attacks; they were acts of utter annihilation, performed with a frightening ease.

How could this destruction be caused by a casual attack from a human that looked no older than them? Was this the reason that even the young time lord avoided him? They were starting to realize that they had been fools to think that they could kill him.

Only the third ship was left in fact. The people within the ships were also looking at the scene in disbelief. If it had been their ship that was targeted, it would have been their ships.

Their first urge was to turn the ship around and leave, but could they even do that? If Karyk attacked again while they were trying to leave, their fate was going to be the same. Moreover, if they returned empty handed, the clan was going to have them killed.

They could only do one thing. The doors of the ship opened and everyone within the ship stepped out, having their hands above their heads, showing that they had no intention of fighting.
