I hate cats, so it seemed rather iron ic to me that the cat incident was the precursor to the Twilight Incident.

After the situation with the girl in red, the Cobalt Knights looked for a rogue cat that we couldn't confirm as a PC or NPc. The cat was accompanied by a Wavemaster named Tsukasa, and an unknown, dumbbell-shaped monster. Since the monster wasn't pare of the standard game, it had to be some kind of an illegal creacion, possibly even a Vagrant AI. My boss and I were investigating their questionable activities when he lost consciousness. I found him passed out on the desk I now sit behind. He was still logged in.

I often wondered what happened to him that day? What did he see? Whar did he experience?

He never answered any of my questions. Whatever it was had clearly changed him.

Watarai remained hospitalized for a long time, his body broken from stress and over-exertion. The remaining Cobalt Knights were reconsolidated under Ryos, the main system administrator.

Then the Twilight occurred.
