Chapter 1425 A Great Experiment
Seven Cherubims encircled the shattered remnants of Drakul's dimension. Like black suns, they were not visible on any physical spectrum, but the weight of their existence caused space and time to warp. Rowan was so used to the presence of higher dimensional beings he had become numb to lesser levels of power, and so the presence of his Cherubims did not make him budge an eyebrow, but away from the shadows of Rowan's great wings, their glory blazed for all the realms to acknowledge.
Their great might suppressed this entire realm and the inhabitants that were left within. They were all in deep slumber under the power of the Cherubim, Requiem, and even the higher dimensional ones among them, which were at the fourth dimension as Vraegar had killed everyone higher.
The battle between Vraegar and the children of Drakul had ravaged this realm to its bleeding foundations, and when the Old One arrived, he had not been gentle with the realm either, in a glance, he had seen the children of his blood, he was not impressed, blinded by what he knew from the Primordial Era, Drakul was unimpressed by the power of his children and he had not held back when he unleashed his might upon Vraegar, killing more of his children than Vraegar and his armies combined.
Except for the black moon with a healthy chunk gouged out of it by Vraegar's devastating blow, the rest of the realm has been reduced to chunks no greater than pebbles.
The greatest casualties in this battle were the children of Drakul, the inhabitants of this realm. The cost in the number of lives lost were horrific.
The long war with the white dragon had killed more than twenty percent of the entire population, and at the end, when Vraegar went all out, and Drakul responded with greater force, the majority of the inhabitants perished, snuffed out by an uncaring father. In a realm that once held tens of billions, barely a hundred million remained.
This number might seem a lot but they were the result of many Minor Eras of breeding. They were not a prolific race, and each new birth would take hundreds of thousands of years, getting to this number despite the chaotic nature of reality was a great accomplishment.
It was a shame that the rest of them would have to die.
Like their Primogenitor, the inhabitants of this realm were vampires, creatures that fed on the blood and essence of others to preserve their lives and grow stronger. Inside their realm, their endless hunger could be sated by the unlimited amount of blood pouring down from the black moon above, but outside their realm they grew hungry and virulent, ending worlds as their quest for blood and essence was insatiable, it was what led Vraegar to this realm in the first place, their hunger was a great boost to the understanding of his Will, and he had been able to refine himself to the peak of the fifth dimension inside this realm.
Of course, their actions made inhabitants of this realm unwelcomed in most of reality, and so most of the vampires never left their home, contented to remain in their dimension where they could easily find sustenance, although like with every land where there was segregation of power and a clear divide between the weak and the strong, the powerful always suppressed the weakest, and even the never-ending rain of blood pouring from the moon were being gathered by those above, and the weak below were forced to serve and slave away for small amounts of resources to aid their growth and sate their hunger.
Before the arrival of Vraegar and his armies, their society was collapsing, which was an odd thing when there were unlimited resources for everyone until the end of time itself, but the greed of the heart knew no bounds and for creatures that were bound by hunger that would never fade, it was a miracle that they had lasted for so long, and grown to this size.
Yet, creation was difficult and destruction was easy, and their civilization that had existed for so long in the last ten million years was slowly collapsing as the greed of those on top had reached a point where those below could not take it any longer, and a revolt began that turned this realm upside down.
The arrival of the dragon gave them an avenue to band together to resist a great threat, and victory would have saved their society from collapse, also, the return of Drakul should have brought them to the peak of existence, how many dimensions could claim to have an Old One governing their affairs, but Fate was a fickle mistress, and the arrival of their Primogenitor, heralded their end.
