Chapter 4 The Siege of the Divine Tree (UNEDITED)
Time has rewound since Veldora's arrival.
I took a 'Spatial Transportation' to the old Eurazania region to stop Milim's rampage.
The area where Velzard is covered with ice and snow is too difficult to reach directly due to poor visibility. In anticipation of this, we had come to a point a short distance away from the site.
From there, we followed a straight line to look for signs.
I approached them with caution because Milim and Velzard were supposed to collide with each other.
But my imagination was wrong.
And in a bad way, too.
"Damn, you're faster than I thought. But it's too late now. Milim, use your power to destroy the tree!"
There were not only Milim and Velzard but also Feldway.
In fact, the presence of Feldway is so different from that of Milim and Velzard that one wonders if it is really Feldway.
He has an overwhelming presence.
It was so overwhelming that I doubted if I could win even if I were to fight seriously now.
And for some reason, he was giving orders to Milim.
The Milim, however, has undergone a terrible change.
It was unclear and deformed in the video, but up close, its horror was obvious.
On its back was a pair of jet-black wings.
A single red horn sprouted from its forehead, shining in rainbow colors.
The bare skin except for the face was covered with hard dragon scales shining in dull tones with mysterious patterns.
I wondered if this was Milim in his 'stumpy state', and at the same time, I sensed a power that almost made me tremble.
The Demon Lord Milim, who manifested as an incarnation of absolute destruction, was truly worthy of being called a "Destroyer.
Why is such a Milim being ordered to do something?
What in the world is going on?
"Regalia" is the title of the Ultimate Skill 'Justice King (Michael)'. Dominion. It seems that Feldway has succeeded in taking control of Milim."
Huh?
Wait a minute.
Does this mean that Milim, which is running amok, is not so bad, and Feldway is using it as a pawn ?
That's not even the worst part...
" Fortunately, we don't feel that we are in complete control. Even if Feldway turns the entire arithmetic domain over to Milim's control, it seems to be able to issue only simple commands."
No, no, that's still more than enough.
Lucky for you, they didn't order you to kill me.
Feldway was not happy about our presence, but he had no intention of fighting us here. He didn't care about us, he just gave the order to Milim and left.
"Milim 's rule is unstable, so he may not be flexible. Or maybe they want to prioritize the destruction of the tree.
Does this mean that Feldway's power cannot revoke the order once it is given?
It is quite possible.
I shudder just to think of Milim making an attempt on my life. We should be glad that it didn't happen, but we never thought it would.
"It was completely unexpected. I guess the runaway state of the machine has made it lose its power of resistance..."
I knew that Feldway had the power to control the system, but I had not considered the possibility that Milim might be manipulated. I can't blame Ciel-san alone.
In the first place, Milim must have been very strong against the dominant power. He always said that such a power would not work.
It was thought that they would never have succeeded in dominating if they had not run amok.
No, that's what they wanted...
"If we let Milim run amok, the world is in danger of collapsing. But to remove that worry with Regalia Dominion... it's too bad a gamble."
Since Ciel-san is so vague about it, it might have been a plan that would hardly succeed.
Frankly, it would be crazy to do it.
If that's the case, there's no point in worrying about it.
More importantly, what is this "divine tree" that Feldway had set as Milim's goal?
" It is a divine tree that protects the capital of Sorcerer's Dynasty of Sarion. It is a tree large enough to hold even a huge city, and seems to play a role in stabilizing the magicule of this world and preventing natural disasters."
Ciel-san answers my question smoothly.
He is as knowledgeable and dependable as ever, but what he just said is something I can't miss.
I have never been to Sarion, but the capital of that country was in a tree - but not there. I can only have a vague image, but if the capital is in the tree, it would be a disaster if the tree is destroyed.
We have no other choice.
If it is impossible...
If we could not do that, we had to at least buy enough time to evacuate the residents, or else it would be a catastrophe for sure.
"Hey, hey, this is a messy situation..."
Guy said as if he was a stranger to the situation.
It's not a child's essay, you should have something more substantial to say.
"Do you have something to complain about?"
"No, I don't. I'm sorry."
I want to complain to them that I don't need such a presence detection, but I'm of the mindset that the long haul will get the short end of the stick.
I pulled out of the situation so that he could do his best.
Guy, not appreciating my response, complains in a disgusted tone.
"But that son of a bitch Feldway... he's as nasty as ever.
"Hmm?"
"I'm talking about whether it turned out to be a good thing that I let you take me for a ride."
When Guy said that, I understood.
I finally got Guy to move by persuading him to come here, but if Guy had not come here because he was too worried about Ivarage's attack, it would have been a dead end at that point.
Guy was able to deal with Velzard, and I was able to deal with Milim.
If it had been just me...
Oops, I don't care about such hypotheticals.
There is no time to dawdle. Because Milim is on the move.
Guy naturally went in front of Velzard.
I tried to go after Milim after I called Eltan, but for some reason, I couldn't get through to his cell phone.
I had a bad feeling that he was busy.
I had no choice but to track Milim while contacting Benimaru.
I try desperately to catch up with Milim while connecting 'Telepathy Net' to Benimaru, and try to attract his attention by attacking him. However, Milim does not care about my attacks.
I know it's not a serious attack, but it's a very powerful one.
There was no time to lament.
Milim's roar was enough to trigger a mysterious burst of power.
The principle was probably that the vibration of the sound of his voice interfered with and broke the molecular bonds. I managed to escape, but the river dried up in the aftermath.
It is too risky to mess with Milim. I thought so, but I knew that the collapse of Sarion was imminent if I didn't do something about it.
I felt Benimaru and I were connected by a 'thought' as I wondered what I was going to do.
"I' ve made a plan, though the probability of success is low.
There was no more time to hesitate.
With the extraordinary speed of flight, dozens of times faster than the speed of sound, they were very close to reaching Sarion.
Even if the success rate of the mission was low, I had no choice but to bet on Ciel-san.
Well, I came to the same conclusion as usual, and though I had my doubts, I informed Benimaru of the situation and ordered him to carry out the operation.
