Chapter 1133: The Clone
Vicente looked at his creation with the surprise of anyone faced with an almost perfect copy of himself. Looking at the exact image of himself, he hesitated for a moment as he raised one of his hands, confirming his clone would not repeat the same gesture.
Not only did the clone not repeat Vicente’s behavior, but he laughed and opened his mouth. "I’m not going to repeat gestures for no reason."
Vicente narrowed his eyes as he heard his voice from a mouth other than his own for the first time. He didn’t pay attention to how different his voice sounded, nor was he surprised by the intelligence he had given this clone.
"How much of my plans do you know?" Vicente asked his copy to confirm his circumstances.
In theory, everything could be beautiful and perfect. In practice, however, things weren’t always so fine.
"I know my purpose. I must wait for Senior Minos to bring him into our crusade," said the copy with conviction. "I just don’t know what other plans you might have. Now that I’m here, I feel some ideas are running through your mind."
Vicente opened his mouth, but said nothing, momentarily observing his new version. ’He really is like me...’
Vicente revealed to the clone. "In fact, your existence is rather curious. I didn’t expect you to be so..."
"Complete?" The clone smiled as he completed the sentence.
"Yes." Vice shook his head positively. "Can you cultivate?"
"Surprisingly, yes." He looked at himself as if he were checking such a thing. "However, while you can access my experiments," he formed a small metal needle with his powers before using it to cut off one of his fingers. "The same doesn’t apply to my cultivation."
Vicente felt a slight twinge in one of his fingers, confirming he could feel the same thing as the clone. As he looked at the clone’s bleeding finger, he compared it to his own, which looked perfect at first glance, but hurt as if it had been bruised.
The clone closed his eyes for a second and absorbed the area mana, using it to regenerate his minor injury and marginally increase his own power. This time, however, Vicente only felt the pain pass, not noticing any improvement in his cultivation.
’As expected. I can’t get stronger simply by using clones to cultivate in my place.’ Vicente realized the truth behind his clone, better understanding what he had created. ’However, that’s not all bad. If I can use his cultivation experience, I could still go further than just having a high-level messenger.’
He suggested to his clone. "It doesn’t matter. You must cultivate to be strong and able to stay alive until we’ve completed all our plans. In the meantime, just knowing what you know will be enough for me."
The clone agreed. As much as he had his own thoughts, he thought exactly like his original version. His priority was the same as Vicente’s and he was willing to do anything to achieve such goals.
Another peculiarity made him entirely loyal to Vicente. While he could be hurt and even killed and Vicente would only feel these experiences, if Vicente died, the clone would also cease to exist!
Even just seconds after his creation, the clone was willing to do anything so his true self would continue to exist, including obeying Vicente as best he could.
The clone looked towards the exit of this dark area of the palace at the same time as his original self. "You must go and join the rest of the group. Be careful on your journey. I won’t have access to your experiences like you will with mine, so I won’t be able to use that to my advantage. Be smart about my adventures from now on and be prepared. We’re strong, but I can’t guarantee I’ll exist until we’ve completed our plans."
Vicente stood up and showed one of his hands to the clone. "Good luck. I’m confident you’ll make the same decisions as I would in your place."
