Chapter 1131: Departure for Hell
Vicente remained silent for a long time after Theloria’s words about the importance of the Celestial King’s successor. Meanwhile, Kong did not fail to express his doubts to the succubus, trying to better understand the experiences that made her able to say such a thing.
According to Theloria, the state of the Nine Paths was irreparable with methods other than those only possible with the powers of origin of the Celestial King’s successor. The possibility of repair has long been lost, and power alone would never be able to change anything. In fact, it would be easier to destroy the whole of existence than to make it the way it was in the distant past.
Kong also heard some details of past events that he had never had the courage to ask about. Certain subjects were too dangerous to talk about and without a greater reason, even high-level Sorcerers would avoid asking questions.
Now the ice dragon didn’t expect to live much longer and wanted to fight alongside Vicente, so he no longer had any old behavioral ties.
Vicente finally broke his three-minute silence, realizing he would have to rush back to Hell. "I was already planning to go to the dimension soon, but maybe I’d better get a move on right away." He muttered as he looked at the succubus who now had a serious expression on her beautiful face.
Theloria realized that, despite being a Devil, Vicente didn’t seem so happy about returning to Hell so soon. "What’s bothering you?" She asked.
"When I left Hell, there was a war going on in one of the richest and largest territories in the dimension. A conflict like no other, said several Devils I killed on my departure. But not only that, I was chased and almost killed. If I come back, I’ll have to deal with mid-level Transcendents."
"Oh?" Theloria wasn’t aware of such a confrontation. "Did something like that happen in Hell? Did a powerful Devil die and leave their domains free?"
"Something like that," Vicente said, not knowing if Devil Abby had really died. But it was a fact that her old domains were free to be taken over by whoever had the strength to keep them.
"In that case, I can help you with something." Theloria threw a space storage item in Vicente’s direction. "I can’t join your group by going to Hell. But I can give you something capable of temporarily taking down a mid-level Transcendent. Even True Celestials would be paralyzed by it." She smiled and advised. "If you use it, run away quickly. It won’t distinguish between enemies and allies."
Vicente felt the power of the artifact in the storage item and couldn’t help but shiver at the strong mental power coming from it. ’So powerful...’
"Thank you for the gift..." He was saying when she interrupted him.
"Don’t thank me yet. It doesn’t guarantee you anything. But use it to increase your chances," she said as she allowed the minds of everyone to return to reality, leaving her colorful fantasy world to return to the peak of the hill they were on in that dark region of Red Enclave.
But only Vicente, Kong, Larissa and Rex left Theloria’s mental illusion. While Vicente’s two underlings breathed deeply at seeing themselves in the real world, free of the fantasies that had invaded their minds, the demon who had brought the group there fell to his knees, bleeding from his seven facial orifices.
Vicente and Kong didn’t ask what was wrong. Theloria was ruthless and wouldn’t leave any loose ends in such a critical matter. So, as she walked towards the exit of her mountain, they didn’t question what would happen to the demon.
She went ahead of them, not bothering to talk about the demon and getting straight to the point. "Now we have to focus on what matters. How do you intend to return to Hell? I know of some special places in Red Enclave that could help you, if you so wish."
Vicente said as he followed her. "I have my own methods. And given the sensitivity of my situation in Hell, it may not be ideal to use methods known to others. However, I need to get to an area at least a thousand kilometers away from unwanted eyes."
She understood and changed her direction. "I know a place where you can have the privacy to leave."
The group flew after her, taking advantage of the vacuum left by such a powerful expert to fly faster than they had ever had the chance to before.
After only a few seconds of silence, Theloria spoke again, asking Vicente, "How much time will you need? I’ll get a move on and start preparing my group to sail. Unfortunately, Red Enclave isn’t the ideal place for our plans to develop."
"Will we need to go to an island more connected to Argardus?" Kong asked.
"Yes." Theloria nodded in affirmation. "Only in such a place can we truly prepare for the battles to come. There is a place near the strongest island of Anicane where we can meet with the successor of the Celestial King and prepare our action. We should leave for there as soon as possible."
