Chapter 1115: Rescuing the Companions II
In the blink of an eye, the Alpine Eye Family city was surrounded by undead, creatures of at least 15 races, former local specialists who took over the local streets and alleys at Vicente’s command.
Vicente walked with his main undead to the city core, watching the horror of the people in the streets. Manyu tried to hide, but others were frozen in horror where they stood.
People fell to their knees as they paled severely, at a loss for words as they felt a suppression greater than anything they had ever encountered before.
High-level Sorcerers didn’t normally show themselves so oppressively in public!
They had unique and distinguishable auras of respect, but making the air so suffocating that everything around them lost its meaning and only one entity became the center of attention was not normal. This was only intensified by Vicente’s powers, which were not only unique by their very nature, but were more intense than any existing power in the area.
As quickly as Vicente called for the leaders of the local sovereign family, mid- and high-ranking Sorcerers appeared on the outskirts of the city’s main building. Naturally, each member of the group was tense, with ugly expressions on their faces as they focused on the demonic figure of the young human.
"Who are you? What differences are you looking to resolve?" An old local native asked Vicente, his wrinkles masking the horror of his feelings, despite his grimace.
But unlike the ordinary inhabitants of this town, such a man wouldn’t mistake the newcomer for a mere mid-level Sorcerer. The senses of this and other experts were not fooled by the 5-Star Sorcerer aura coming from Vicente. As they looked at the human with long black hair and dark-gold armor, they saw a quasi-Transcendent.
Vicente wasn’t really a Transcendent, but his powers could be compared to those of 10th stage beginners!
How had they got into trouble with an expert of such caliber? None of the important elders of the Alpine Eye Family knew the answer, but they all wanted to hear it from Vicente himself and not have to fight for something they didn’t know.
Vicente stopped his march a few dozen meters in front of the entrance to the most prominent palace in the city. He didn’t need more than a few seconds of careful observation to notice the many slaves on this property, identifying the local reality of much of the Inviting Isles.
As he stood in silence, with his hundreds of high-powered undead positioned on the outskirts, already blocking streets and surrounding the Alpine Eye Family’s seat of power, Vicente raised one of his arms in the air, forcing himself against the man who questioned him.
"You have acquired one of my companions as a slave. Hand her over immediately and accept your punishment!" Vicente said firmly, while an 8-Star Sorcerer struggled not to touch the cobblestones with his knees.
Despite Vicente’s aggression, no one moved. All the elders of the family wanted to move, but they stood still, sweating as they watched Vicente amid the tension of the moment.
"The senior really has splendid powers," said the old man suffering under the influence of Vicente’s pressure, struggling to keep his composure while signaling his people to hold their positions. "But this old man has his tricks, too." He stood up, shaking off the worst of Vice’s initial attack.
But instead of attacking the newcomer, this old man took a step back and said, "However, we will not fight. I don’t know who you’re talking about, but whoever it is, we’ll hand them over to you. Just retract your aura and give us a chance to talk."
Vicente had already decided to punish this family after resolving Larissa’s situation. But for now, he retracted his aura, prioritizing information regarding his companion. ’She’s not in this city. I’ll have to play with these people for a while.’
With the locals feeling they could get out of this problem in a peaceful way, the tension in the city center eased several levels until a group of elders came closer to Vicente.
