I really didn’t know what to say when the spider said all of this.

This God of Insects, Insectum really seemed like they weren’t able to keep their mouth closed.

It seemed like this was the kind of god that couldn’t help rambling on.

Though it wasn’t as if this was a bad thing for me.

With a cough, I said, "Alright, I understand your situation. However, what does that have to do with the current situation?"

"Right, it’s very simple. I’m sure that the other gods have all told you things when you met them, but I haven’t had the chance to say anything yet. I just told you how lazy my messenger is, so I’m sure you can understand what would happen if I tried to talk to you through her."

A faint smile appeared on my lips when I heard this, but then it disappeared as I said, "So, what did you want to talk about?"

"Well, it’s not that important. It’s just that I was hoping that you could take care of something for me."

"Huh?" I couldn’t help being confused when I heard this.

Even though Insectum had just said that their messenger Queenie was lazy, the way that they asked this really was just like how she had asked me to take this relic.

It really seemed like the two of them were more similar than Insectum made it seem.

But then again, there was a reason why Queenie had become the messenger of Insectum in the first place.

With a cough to gather myself, I asked, "What is it that you want me to help you with?"

"It’s nothing that important, it’s just that there’s a build up of the corruption energy in this place that I want you to take care of."

"Huh?" I couldn’t help being fully caught off guard this time.

The way that Insectum said this was as if it was some kind of small matter, but the matter that it was bringing up definitely wasn’t small.

Insectum didn’t say anything at first, but then it suddenly said, "Oh, it’s not as serious as you think it is."

A strange look appeared on my face after it said this since I really couldn’t think of how it wouldn’t be a serious matter. But I didn’t say anything as I waited to hear Insectum’s explanation.

"I’m sure that you should know about the scouts that the God of Destruction has sent all over the continent, right?"

I gave a slow nod since we had encountered this previously as well, but there were less of these since we had taken care of the outposts that they created. There were still some traces of corruption energy that were found from time to time, but it was nowhere on the same level as before.

"Well, it’s only natural that they would try to come into my territory. That’s why I made it so that the ones that did sneak in would be captured and detained."

"Why don’t you just purify it? You are a god after all." I asked in a confused voice.

The amount of divine energy that was in front of me was more than enough to prove Insectum’s power as a god. This kind of divine energy should have been more than enough to purify any normal corruption energy monster.

Unless it was a powerful Apostle of Destruction, it wasn’t as if they wouldn’t have been able to take care of it.

So there was no reason that they would have to capture and detain it.

After a momentary awkward pause, Insectum said, "Well, it’s simply because my power isn’t suited for things like this."

When they said this, I couldn’t help feeling a bit suspicious.

After all, that just didn’t make sense since they were a god that was supposed to oppose the forces of Destruction.

"My powers are more for expansion, not really destruction. I might be able to hurt it a bit, but it’s not enough to actually take care of it."

The more that I heard of this, the more confused and suspicious I became.

It seemed that Insectum could also see this, so they suddenly said, "Instead of telling you, it’s easier to show you."

Then without even waiting for a response, the spider suddenly came off the podium and went over to the wall. Tapping the wall with its foreleg, there was this opening that appeared and a set of stairs leading down appeared.

I couldn’t help feeling strange about all of this, but I still followed them.

As we headed down, I could sense the corruption energy in front of me.

It seemed that Insectum hadn’t been lying about this, there was a large amount of corruption energy that seemed to be gathered here.

Though I was doubtful that they would be able to detain all of this corruption energy.

When we came to the end of the stairs, there was this large room that was spread out in front of me. This large room seemed to have a large pit in the center as well that I couldn’t really see the bottom of.

But from the sensation that this pit gave off, it was clear that this pit was filled with corruption energy.

This was what Insectum was talking about.

When I went forward to take a look, there was a reaction that came from the pit.

It seemed that there was something that was stirring from deep inside of the pit before it suddenly reached out at me as if it wanted to grab me.

There wasn’t much light in this place, so I couldn’t really see what it was until it came close. Though before it came close, I could already sense the aura that was coming from this thing.

It was all corruption energy.

It seemed to be some kind of thing that was made of corruption energy that was reaching out as if it wanted to grab me and pull me into this pit.
