Even before reaching the entrance of the tunnel, we could already see that there was a light that was coming from it.

It seemed faint when we weren’t as close, but now that we were at the entrance, we could see that it was actually quite bright.

Though the brightness was only relative to the outside.

In the first place, the outside area was already quite dark because of cliff walls that were all around the place. They blocked off most of the natural light that would have come into this place, which was what made this place quite dark.

After adjusting to the change in brightness, I found that the light in this tunnel actually came from something quite interesting.

I wouldn’t have noticed it since the light seemed like it came from all over the cave, but it wasn’t hard to find the source when I looked closely.

I found that it was actually a group of fireflies that were on the roof that were providing this light.

Though looking closely, it was clear that they didn’t do this full time.

The way that they were spread out showed that they were doing this on a whim and it wasn’t something that they did on the regular. It seemed that whatever was inviting us in at least seemed to be friendly that it would think of this for us.

But thinking about it, this could all be a trap...

For now, I kept my mind open since I had no idea what to expect.

Everything that had happened so far was so unexpected that I didn’t even know what I should be expecting at this point. Which was why I just shut off my brain in trying to figure out what was to come.

After walking for a bit, we arrived at a place that was different from the tunnel that we had been in the entire time.

Though this place didn’t have much in it.

The only thing that was here was a large amount of bugs.

It seemed like there were even more bugs than we had seen previously that were gathered in this place. However, it didn’t seem like these bugs were just standing around and waiting.

The way that this room was designed with its many different tunnels, it was clear that this was some kind of transport hub for the bugs. It seemed that this was the place that they used to reach the different spots in this place that they called home.

It didn’t seem like our arrival was even noticed by these bugs as they continued going their separate ways.

Though when we moved forward, it seemed like there was a reaction.

The bugs that had been moving along suddenly started to move in a different direction.

It wasn’t that they completely started heading in a different direction, it was just that they were taking a path that deviated from the path that they took previously. It seemed like they were giving way to us so that we could continue going the same path.

Since that was the case, we continued down this path that the bugs created for us.

As we walked through this sea of bugs, it really was quite something.

After all, being surrounded by bugs like this really was a strange feeling.

At least it didn’t seem like these bugs were planning to do anything to us.

With the bugs moving out of the way for us like this, it was very easy to tell exactly where we were going.

So following this path, we entered another tunnel and continued following the path that was laid out for us.

This continued several more times before we finally reached a place that wasn’t just a large intersection for these bugs. It really was nice to finally get out of the tide of bugs that moved around in this place.

Though seeing this really made it clear just how many bugs were in these underground tunnels.

It really was surprising that they had formed this kind of habitat in this place.

But at the same time, it was a bit confusing what had gathered all of these bugs like this.

Unless there was something extraordinary, there wouldn’t have been this many bugs that gathered in a single place like this. There had to be something that was combining them all together.

Though it was hard to imagine just what kind of brain it would take to control all of these bugs.

The final place that we had been led to was a much smaller room than the rest and it didn’t seem like there were that many bugs that were here. But when we looked closely at the bugs that were here, it was easy to tell what kind of bugs they were.

If we were to fight these bugs, there was no doubt that we would suffer casualties.

That was because the bugs that were in front of us were elites that were far different from the rank and file soldiers that we had seen previously. These were special bugs that had been born to fight and protect.

In a way, it could even be said that they were the royal guards of this bug colony.

The one that they would be guarding would without a doubt be something very special.

Since they were in this special room with the elite bugs, one could easily imagine what kind of position they had in this colony. They were no doubt a special bug that controlled the rest of the bugs.

That meant that they were the one that I came here to see.

"Welcome Holy Son, I’ve been waiting for you."

As expected, it was something that could speak unlike the rest of the bugs.

Only when I saw what had just spoken, I couldn’t help being a bit surprised.

This certainly wasn’t what I had imagined when I thought of a legendary beast, but there was no doubt that this was the god’s messenger since it possessed divine energy.
