Though the Mark of God had appeared on my hand, it wasn’t as if this was enough to tell me what was happening.

With the appearance of the Mark of God, I at least knew that this was related to the god’s messenger.

After all, for the Mark of God to appear on my hand like this, it must be reacting to the god’s messenger that was nearby.

The thing was that even though it reacted, it wasn’t as if it would tell me exactly where they were.

At the same time, it wasn’t as if there was something that was magically going to happen since the Mark of God was reacting.

There was no guarantee that whatever was happening was related to the god’s messenger.

Klein and the royal guards had a trace of doubt on their faces when they heard this, but they still followed my orders. They immediately formed a circle around me as if they were planning to protect me.

From what Lupus and Zeldir told me, these god’s messengers should have been willing to meet me.

So the only thing that could be happening was that this was some kind of trap.

The god’s messenger could be in trouble and was being used as bait to draw me in.

The only ones that would do that would be the forces of Destruction...

"Only how would they have found the god’s messenger?"

It wasn’t the time to think about this, so I focused on finding a way out of this place first.

Though no matter how I thought about it, it really didn’t seem like there would be a way out of this place. If we wanted to escape, the only thing that could be done was...

"I am here to see the god’s messenger, there’s no need to act this way, right?"

Klein and the other royal guards seemed a bit surprised when they heard this, but they weren’t really that surprised. After all, they had already figured that this was the case since I had insisted on coming to this place.

The sounds were faint, but we were able to hear these sounds coming from all around us. With how many of the same sounds there were, it was as if there were a bunch of things that had completely surrounded us at this moment.

Though we really couldn’t see anything and had no idea what was out there.

After a while, it seemed like there was something that was finally released.

It was hard to tell at first, but it felt like there was some kind of relief that came over us. It was as if there had been something that had been putting stress on us the entire time, but we hadn’t been able to tell that this was happening until it was finally released.

Though this certainly wasn’t good news.

Even if we were free now, it meant that there had been something that had been putting this kind of influence on us the entire time. It meant that there was something out there that had been able to make this move against us without us noticing.

Even if we weren’t hurt, it wasn’t a good sign...

But we didn’t have time to think about this as something was happening around us.

The things that were making the skittering sounds seemed to be showing themselves.

It was just that we soon realized that it wasn’t one or two of these things.

Well, we already knew that it wasn’t one or two of these things since we could hear the sounds that were coming from around us. Though it was hard not to be taken aback by all of the different things that suddenly appeared.

They came out of the tunnels that were in the cliff faces that were all around us.

These things weren’t that big, but there were a lot of them and they covered a lot of space. At the same time, they had similar colours to each other, which meant that they covered large areas when grouped up like this.

With all of them coming out like this, they soon covered the entire area around us.

It was terrifying seeing so many of them gathering like this.

Humans were scared of just one or two of these things, but to see this many of them gathering like this....

They didn’t seem to stop after coming out of the tunnels, they continued coming towards us until they completely surrounded us. With all of these creatures around us, the entire area around us turned this uniform black colour.

Though when looking closely, one could see that there were patches of other colours that were there as well.

It really was a sickening sight to see as a human, but there wasn’t anything that we could do against this wave of creatures.

All of these insects had completely surrounded our group and trapped us like this.
