The temple that I was referring to was the same temple that I had been brought to when I first came to the Merman Empire.

This temple was the temple that belonged to Aquaron and it was the place that I received that relic from them.

It had been a long time since I had come to this place since I had never needed to come to this place. After all, there was a better place for me to go to if there was a need to talk to the gods.

However, I came here this time because there was something specific that I had to ask Aquaron.

When I came up to the temple, I found that there were some priests that were already there waiting for me.

It didn’t seem like they knew what I was here for, but they did recognize me as the one that had been summoned by their god before.

I ignored them as I headed towards the temple.

None of the priests tried to stop me, the only reason that they came forward to greet me was because they recognized me. Though there were confused looks that were on their faces when they followed me since they had no idea what I was here for.

It seemed that Aquaron hadn’t given them any instructions.

Was it simply because they didn’t care about this or because they didn’t have anything to say about this.

I had been waiting for a response from Aquaron the entire time, but they had never said a single thing.

Since they didn’t want to speak to me, then the only choice that I had now was to go and find them.

After opening the doors to the temple, I turned around and said, "I have to go in alone."

They looked at me as if they wanted to follow me, but I remained firm on this matter.

So in the end, they had no choice but to respect this even if they clearly wanted to come in with me.

The ones that wanted to follow the most were the priests, but they held themselves back in the end.

Once the door closed behind me, it didn’t take long for me to appear in the place that I expected to appear in. At the same time, the figure that I expected to see appeared in front of me.

It was just that I certainly didn’t expect what they said.

"Go back, there’s nothing for you here."

This was completely different from the Aquaron that I had met in the past.

This Aquaron wasn’t one that was completely complacent, this was an Aquaron that was completely focused and knew what they were doing.

So when I heard this, I couldn’t help feeling confused.

"Is this the real you or is the one that I met before the real you?"

Aquaron refused to answer this, but he did give an answer that caught me off guard once more.

"It isn’t the right time for you to know about this."

This was the exact same thing that Aestum said when I tried to talk to them previously.

For them to say the exact same thing like this, it definitely wasn’t a coincidence.

Though to think that they would be working together...that was also a bit hard to believe with the way that Aestum and the kraken had acted.

It felt like there was a bit too much of a grudge in their voices for this to simply be an act.

"You’ve already gotten the answer that you’re looking for, so there’s no reason for you to remain here any longer." Aquaron said all of a sudden while I was still processing what had happened here.

Since they were the god and I was the mortal, there was nothing that I could do as I was sent out of this place.

I wasn’t able to say a single thing as the scenery changed around me.

When I came back to my senses, I found that I was once again back in the temple.

The way that the two gods acted...it was clear that there was more to this story than what I had been told.

The problem was that if the gods didn’t want to say anything, it wasn’t as if I could force the gods to talk. I might be able to use divine energy, but that didn’t make me a god.

Even if I were to ask the other gods, it wasn’t as if gods would tattle on other gods.

This was something that I had already learned the hard way before this.

So in the end, there really was nothing that I could do about this as I turned to leave the temple.

When I opened the doors, there was this frustrated feeling that filled me...

"What happened?" The Merman King was the one that stepped forward to ask this question, but all I could do was shake my head.

Everyone looked at me with strange looks when they heard this.

They really didn’t understand what I meant by this, but I really didn’t want to tell them anything else since I didn’t want to create any misunderstandings. When I didn’t understand things either, it was best if I told them as little as possible.

Though while this was happening, I looked at the kraken and watched for any reaction from it.

It seemed like the kraken wasn’t as surprised as the others...

Since I wouldn’t say anything, there wasn’t anything that they could do.

In the end, we just left the temple and headed back to the palace.

Though as we were heading back, I moved to the side of the Merman King and said, "Keep an eye on those people that we’ve brought back with us."

The Merman King looked at me with a strange look before asking, "Do you think that something will happen with them?"

"I don’t think they’ll do anything, but I feel like something might happen that will be out of our control."

The Merman King looked at me with another strange look, but he gave a nod in the end.
