The next morning, the Merman King organized the group as he promised.

The thing was that he even included himself in the group.

"I can’t just let you die, can I? Not only are you the leader of the racial alliance, you’re also my son in law. I can’t just let my grandchild lose their father." The Merman King said with a snort when asked about this.

I revealed an awkward smile before saying, "I’m not the leader of the racial alliance."

This was the only thing that I could refute with what he said.

But when I did, the Merman King narrowed his eyes to look at me before saying, "You can say that all you want, but you know that this is the truth. If it weren’t for you, the racial alliance wouldn’t have existed in the first place."

Then in a more serious voice, he added, "You should take your position in the racial alliance more seriously. If it wasn’t for you linking the different races, then the racial alliance never would have happened."

I gave a slow nod in response without saying anything.

The Merman King didn’t say anything else since he had already said what he needed to say.

With this group guiding me, it didn’t take me long to arrive at the border of that area that was surrounded in whirlpools.

Just a single glance was enough to tell how powerful these whirlpools were, but that wasn’t all that I felt when I came closer. With that skin tight air bubble around me, I was able to feel the flow of the water.

I could tell that there was a strong flow in the water that was running past me.

This thing was clearly the flow that came from the whirlpool.

But even before that, there was something else that I felt from the whirlpools.

No one else seemed to sense it, but it wasn’t as if they had the same sharp senses for this kind of thing like me.

The moment that we approached, I could already sense the faint traces of divine energy inside of these whirlpools.

It was so faint that I might have thought that I made a mistake if I didn’t know what I was doing.

But it was hard for me to mistake this when I felt this divine energy.

It was clear that these whirlpools had been formed with divine energy.

Since they were formed with divine energy, that meant that my guesses had been correct and I moved forward.

The others seemed like they wanted to follow me, but I raised my hand to stop them.

Though it was only because the Merman King gave a nod that they listened to me.

It wasn’t that they wanted to protect me, it was that they didn’t want me to make things worse by provoking those whirlpools.

When I came closer, I didn’t go all the way to where the whirlpools were and stopped right before reaching them.

Then when I was floating there, I raised the hand with the Mark of God on it.

The moment that I did, there was a glow that came from this hand as the Mark of God revealed itself.

Once the Mark of God appeared, it seemed like there was a reaction that came from the whirlpools that were in front of me. As soon as the Mark of God appeared, there was this resonance where the whirlpools seemed to slow down.

Then all of a sudden, they disappeared without a trace.

It wasn’t a gradual slowdown before the whirlpools disappeared.

They just suddenly disappeared without a single trace.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I had been staring at them before this, I wouldn’t have believed that the whirlpools had been there either.

This was just too sudden of a change...

"What’s happening?" The Merman King asked after swimming over to where I was.

He had started moving as soon as the whirlpools started to fade and he came over right when the whirlpools disappeared.

I didn’t get a chance to answer since there were things that suddenly came out of the ground.

It was hard to identify what these things were at first since they were too big to see and moving too fast to see properly, but it didn’t take long for them to suddenly stop.

Once they stopped, it was easy to tell what they were.

Tentacles.

These were tentacles that had suddenly come out of the ground.

With the way that they came out of the ground, they completely surrounded both me and the Merman King.

The Merman King looked like he wanted to act, but I raised my hand to stop him.

It was just that I couldn’t stop the royal guards that were charging over.

This couldn’t be blamed on them since from their perspective, it really seemed like we were being attacked by these tentacles that came out of the ground. After all, we were completely surrounded by these tentacles that appeared.

Before the royal guards could do anything, I grabbed the Merman King and started floating in their direction. The problem was that I couldn’t move fast since I was just a human that was floating there with the help of an air bubble suit.

It was a good thing that the Merman King came back to his senses before they clashed and started swimming with me.

In the end, we came in between the royal guards and the tentacles that seemed to be reacting to the hostility of the royal guards.

With the two of us standing in between them, it seemed that the royal guards and the tentacles couldn’t actually do anything.

The tentacles didn’t move since they sensed my presence.

The royal guards didn’t move since they saw that the Merman King was with me.

Raising my hands to stop them, I said, "Let’s all take a step back and talk about this. There’s been a misunderstanding between the two sides, so there’s no need to fight."
