"This is all that we have about that place." The Merman King said as he brought a pile of reports in.

There really wasn’t much that was here, but that made sense since that place was considered a taboo area for the mermaids.

If it was a taboo area, it was a place that they avoided.

So it would be strange if they had a lot of information about that place.

I gave a nod before I started reading the reports that he brought.

The Merman King didn’t bother staying as he put the reports down and turned to leave.

I knew exactly where he was going.

There was only one place that he could go and only one thing that was on his mind.

I didn’t mind it since that was the reason why I had brought Ariel back with me.

So I just threw myself into the reports that were in front of me.

The thing was that there really was a lack of information for me.

Most of the reports were about people that had snuck off into that place and there wasn’t much follow up on them since their bodies had never been found.

The reason that place was a taboo was because of the whirlpools that were there.

These were powerful whirlpools that ripped apart anything that approached. These were whirlpools that didn’t seem to ever stop and only existed to tear things apart.

That was why no one dared to approach that place.

However, there were those that did and that was because they had no other choice. They were the criminals that had been chased to this taboo area and went in because there was no escape for them.

"These whirlpools that seem to appear out of nowhere, it’s clear that there’s something inside of this place that’s creating them..." I muttered to myself as I looked at the map that was brought along with these reports.

This sea chart showed the exact location of the whirlpools.

It was a ring around a certain area that was deemed a taboo zone.

It wasn’t just a single whirlpool, it was a bunch of whirlpools that circled off an entire area.

This made it very clear that there was something that was hiding in the center of this.

"Only they have no reason to put their lives in danger to search this place since it has never bothered them." I muttered to myself again.

From the reports, I was able to learn that this place had existed for a long time now.

This was something that had existed for several generations of Merman King.

It was just that there was never a need for them to do anything since these whirlpools had never gotten bigger or caused any harm. It would only harm those that set foot in that taboo zone.

Basically, they had ignored it because it didn’t pose a threat at all.

However, it was very clear that there was a god’s messenger that was hiding in this place.

This kind of coverage with whirlpools was not something that could be done unless there was a lot of power to maintain it. What seemed most likely to be powering this was the power of a god.

After all, gods had far more power than normal people.

"Now how am I going to make my way through this..."

These were a bunch of whirlpools that would rip me apart if I were to get close. For someone that could only stay underwater with the help of potions, there was no doubt that it would be hard for me to go through them.

"Well, they said that I would be able to meet them since it was the right time. When I met the others, the Mark of God was able to resonate with the god’s messengers and bring them to me. So it should be the same with these whirlpools."

That was the justification that I gave myself since I didn’t have any other ideas.

There was just simply too little information for me to even figure out what to do here and there wasn’t enough time to hesitate.

Though I didn’t say anything to anyone when I came out from the room that I borrowed.

I knew that if I were to say something, it would turn into a big deal.

"I want to visit that taboo area and take a look. Is it alright if we head there tomorrow?"

"Why would you want to go to that place?" The Merman King raised his voice to make sure that Ariel could hear this when he asked this question.

I knew what he was doing by raising his voice like this.

After all, it was hard to hide it when I used that card earlier to get him to stop asking me about my request for the reports. But now that I was actually approaching the danger, it wasn’t as if he could just let me do this.

Though to the Merman King’s surprise...

"This is something that he needs to do. Can you arrange for some people to go with him, daddy?"

The way that Ariel asked this question just wasn’t fair for the Merman King.

When she said it like this, it hit him in his weak spot since she was his baby girl.

Though the Merman King clearly had his suspicions about why we were doing all of this.

"You’ll find out tomorrow. This is important though, so we have to do this."

Ariel nodded in agreement with what I said. However, I could see the trace of worry that was in her eyes when she did this.

It was only natural that she would be worried since it was a dangerous place that I was going to.

"Fine, I’ll have someone bring you there tomorrow." The Merman King said with a sigh in the end.

"Thank you, daddy." Ariel said, but the Merman King wasn’t in the mood this time.

It really seemed to hurt him a lot that his daughter was now keeping secrets from him.
