"This power isn’t something that a normal human can accomplish..." Max muttered to himself as he read the readings that came from the training dummy.

This wasn’t surprising since we had seen the change that had come over the royal guard.

The only thing that mattered now was...

"What else do you want me to do?"

I couldn’t help letting out a sigh of relief when I heard this.

After all, the one thing that I had been worried about was that he would lose control of himself because of the potion that he took. I was afraid that there would be some kind of side effect that would make him go berserk.

But seeing that he was able to ask this, it was clear that he was still in control of himself.

"What else do you want to test?" I delegated this to Max since he was the expert here.

Max didn’t hesitate at all as he already had plenty of things that he wanted to test the royal guard on.

It was the royal guard who regretted asking this question in the end.

"Can I take a break yet?" He said while panting from exhaustion.

Max seemed like there were more tests that he wanted to run, but I stopped it since I could see that the glow around him was fading. At the same time, it seemed like the muscles that had swelled because of the potion were shrinking.

These signs made it clear that the effects of the potion were running out.

It seemed like it was only a matter of time before he returned to normal.

Though whether that was because it was just the normal amount of time that this potion lasted or if he burned through all of the energy in the potion was unknown.

In the end, it seemed like Max was disappointed, but he also understood why this was the case, "This was just a normal strengthening potion. Even if it was made stronger by the divine energy inside of the water, it wasn’t as if it would turn it into some kind of miracle potion."

Since the first potion had worn off, we went to the next potion.

This was an agility increasing potion that would help one move faster when it was drunk.

But the moment that the royal guard drank that potion, it was as if he couldn’t control his body.

All of a sudden, he was moving at a speed that was hard for the normal person to follow with their eyes. I was still able to see him, but my vision was definitely much better than a normal person’s.

It was just a good thing that Max had thought to put sensors on him before he drank this potion or it would have been hard to keep track of this royal guard.

"This is amazing..." Max said as he stared at the data.

Once again, I had no idea what he was even looking at when it came to the data.

So in the end, I asked, "What is it? How is the data?"

It didn’t seem like he was going to answer at first, but then Max said, "Five times."

I raised one brow and looked at the data that he was looking at, but I stopped in the end since I couldn’t understand what I was even looking at. Instead I turned to look at the royal guard to see the effects on his body.

It seemed like he was slowly getting used to the speed, but I could also see that the glow around him was getting weaker.

Part of it was him adapting and part of it was the potion wearing out.

"To have these kinds of effects just from drinking medium grade potions, it really makes one wonder what happens if we used ingredients for high grade potions."

Max tore his eyes away from his data and looked at me as if he was expecting something, but I was just saying this for the sake of saying it. It wasn’t as if I was actually planning on following through with this.

So in the end, he turned back to his data and started giving instructions to the royal guard.

After a while, the effects of the potion wore off, but all of the data had already been collected by Max.

When it was over, the royal guard had a disappointed look on his face as if he had wanted this effect to continue for a bit longer. However, the effect had disappeared and he was no longer as fast.

It was the same for the other royal guard that took the first potion.

I couldn’t help looking at Max with one brow raised seeing them like this, but he just shook his head to deny what I was asking him.

But then again, he was right about this.

If there really was something that was addicting in those potions, he would have noticed it a long time ago.

So they were most likely just missing the power that they once had.

After confirming this, I looked at the third royal guard who had been waiting for his turn. Though from the look in his eyes, it seemed like he wasn’t as patient as one might think.

It really seemed like he wanted to drink this potion as soon as possible.

Since that was the case...

"You can drink it." I said all of a sudden.

The eyes of the third royal guard lit up when he heard this and he drank the potion without hesitation.

The problem was that there was no reaction that came out of him drinking the potion.

There wasn’t even a glow that appeared around him which made it seem like this potion was a dud.

"What kind of potion was this again?" I asked Max.

He looked at his list and said, "It’s a healing potion."

"Well, that’s the problem. Since it’s a healing potion, it won’t have any effect if he’s already healthy."
