The others looked at me with confused looks when they heard this, but I just ignored them all as I focused on the spear that Klein was holding.
The more that I looked at it, the more that I was learning about the spear.
Or rather, it was better to say that I was learning more about the weapons forged from the divine energy flames.
These weapons had absorbed the divine energy of the flames, but they were different from the dishes that had only absorbed it in essence.
What these weapons did was concentrate that divine energy in a way that suited the weapon itself.
It was better to say that these weapons had become a vessel for the divine energy.
The better the construction of the weapon, the better its capability to act as a vessel.
As for what that meant...
Weapons were made to make it more efficient for the wielder to harm the thing that they were using the weapon against. That was why they had sharp points like this spear that concentrated and strengthened the force that they stabbed with.
So in this case, it was the same for the divine energy that was contained within the spear.
The moment that Klein stabbed out with the spear, the spear itself drew on the divine energy that was inside of it and focused it on the tip. That was why there was this powerful reaction when it hit the corruption energy monster.
This was something that even I hadn’t been doing even with my understanding of the divine energy.
Normally when I used the divine energy, all I did was release it at the corruption energy monster. Even if I used my own divine energy to strengthen it, it wasn’t as if I did more than that.
So this spear really taught me a lesson.
"I was using it in such an inefficient manner...If I had been concentrating the divine energy like this, then it would have caused far more damage. At the same time, I wouldn’t have had to use so much of it to begin with. I can’t believe that I didn’t even think of something as simple as this."
For someone from the modern world like me, this was something that should have been a basic concept.
That was why I was ashamed that I didn’t think of this sooner.
"Well, we’re not gods or even demigods. It’s not as if there’s anyone out there that can teach us how to use this power." I said even though I couldn’t help thinking of the gods that I met on a regular basis.
After realizing this, I had Klein test out the other weapons to see if all of them followed the same concept.
It didn’t take long to confirm that this was indeed the case.
All of them were created with the purpose of defeating one’s enemies, so of course they would follow the same principle.
But there was a difference between the weapons.
The spear was the most efficient one out of all of them.
As one would expect based on the quality of these weapons, the spear was the most efficient when it came to drawing out divine energy. The rest would release extra amounts or would just leak divine energy when they were used.
The interesting thing was that when it wasn’t being used, it seemed like there was almost no leaking of the divine energy.
"The materials that they used are good enough to contain them. So that means that we’ll have to gather more materials of the same level if we want to arm everyone."
When I was done with the experiments, the Dwarven King said, "I’ll gather everyone to start forging these weapons if you can convince everyone to gather the materials for them."
He had been following behind me the entire time and had been listening to my mutterings.
But even then, he would have been able to tell what was happening with his understanding of forging.
I gave a nod, but then I added, "Take in those ones from the tournament and have them help you. In time, give them their own teams as well when you think they’re ready."
The Dwarven King looked at me with one brow raised when I said this, but I didn’t change what I saId.
Instead, I just said, "This is an investment for the future."
His expression slowly relaxed, but there was still a trace of doubt as he asked, "Everyone?"
"Everyone." I said with a nod before adding, "In time, they’ll be able to learn how to do everything that you do. We have to start thinking about the future."
The way that he looked at me was as if he was saying, "Will there be a future to think about?"
However, I just calmly looked back at him when he looked at me like this.
So in the end, the Dwarven King said with a sigh, "Alright, I’ll handle it."
I gave a nod before saying, "Thanks."
He waved his hand at me as if he was blowing this off, but I knew that it wasn’t that he was ignoring me. It was more that he was saying that there was no need for this since we were family.
I continued observing the weapons before raising my own hand.
In my hand was the button relic.
Standing there in silence for a bit, I finally condensed a small drop of ice in the middle of my hand.
There was a faint smile that appeared on my face when I did this before I said to myself, "I really need to experiment with this a bit more to see if I can use this in combat in the future. But at least this is a good start."
Then with a single flick of my hand, I tossed that drop of ice at one of the corruption energy monsters.
Since it was divine energy ice, it went right through the barrier that we had around the corruption energy monster.
The moment that it touched the corruption energy monster...that corruption energy monster disappeared without a trace.
