The judges that had this glowing food placed in front of them actually didn’t know what to say when they saw this glowing food.
It wasn’t as if they were bad judges.
Since this was a tournament that was being held by the racial alliance, it meant that the best of the best had been called as judges.
These were gourmands that were recognized by several different nations.
They were the ones that everyone turned to when it came to finding the best food in every nation.
But even they couldn’t describe what they were looking at.
After all, this was a dish that they had never seen before.
Well, it wasn’t that they had never seen it before. It was just that they had never seen a dish that could release this kind of glow.
This was a dish that almost seemed like it didn’t belong to this world all because of that glow.
So in the end, there really wasn’t anything that they could say to judge this dish.
But it was their job after all.
The staff that was on the side gave a nudge to all of the judges that were just sitting there in a daze. When they felt this nudge, they finally came back to their senses and started doing their jobs.
Though there was a bit of a delay, they all scooped up some of the dish and brought it to their mouths.
The moment that it entered, there were tears that came out of the side of their eyes.
All of them seemed like they were lost in the taste of the dish that was placed in front of them and they didn’t know what to say, even though it was technically their job to describe what was special about this dish.
But eventually, they were able to muster out a few words.
"Delicious."
"Out of this world."
"I’m back to my childhood."
These really didn’t seem like things that professional judges should be saying, but these were the words that came out of their mouths in the end. However, it didn’t seem like the crowd held it against them.
The crowd just gave a gulp when they heard them say this as if they wanted to taste the dish themselves.
Once they came back from their daze, the judges seemed like they wanted to go for a second, third, even a fourth bite. However, the staff that had been standing on the side stopped them before they could do this.
When that happened, the judges looked at them as if they were trying to steal their children or something.
But eventually they came back to their senses and realized what they were doing.
With a cough, the judge put down their eating utensils and wrote down their score.
With what they had said, of course it was a perfect score.
It was just that this wasn’t the only dish that received a perfect score.
There were six chefs that had been able to cook something with the divine energy flames and all of them created a glowing dish like the first one. That meant that all of them received the same perfect score.
If it wasn’t for the fact that this was only the second round and that multiple contestants could make it through, then this would have been a problem. After all, it was clear by the looks on the faces of the judges as they ate these dishes that they couldn’t actually make a choice.
So if it was only a single winner, then they really wouldn’t have known what to do.
But there was still a problem...
After the round of glowing dishes, there was a round of mediocre dishes.
After all, there were only six of them that had been able to create something with the divine energy flames and the rest had burnt their food to varying degrees.
Some of them had completely charred their food while some had only slightly burnt their food. But the common thing between them was that their food had been burnt and that was a fact.
So even if they wanted to try these dishes, it really was hard for them.
Especially after they had finished those glowing dishes.
Still they were professional judges and they forced these dishes down in the end, managing to fill the quota of contestants that would be moving on. But those that did move on couldn’t help feeling bad about themselves since they knew that it wasn’t their talent that allowed them to move on.
It was just that they were slightly better than the others.
This was more luck than talent...
I didn’t care about any of this as I watched from the back.
One of the reasons that the staff had stopped the judges was because I gave them the order to do so. Or rather, the order that I gave the staff was to stop the judges from finishing off the food and bring it backstage for me.
When they brought it over, they looked at me with looks as if they were asking if they could join me.
It was clear that they thought that I had them bring these dishes over because I wanted them for myself.
But that wasn’t the case.
Since I knew that these dishes were surrounded by divine energy, I also knew that there was something special about them other than the taste.
There was no doubt that they would taste fantastic, but I cared about something completely different.
That was because I could see the flow of divine energy unlike others.
The moment that the judges had tasted these dishes, I could see the flow of divine energy from the food that they ate. This divine energy entered right into their bodies and seemed to linger there.
As for the effect that came from having that divine energy linger like that, that was what I was interested in.
"Bring the royal guards." I said to the staff.
They all looked at me with shocked looks and were even a bit afraid, but they followed my orders in the end.
