For the other tournaments, I went alone.

There was no need for me to bring anyone else since these weren’t talents that I would delegate to anyone else.

They were talents that wouldn’t even be on the frontline since their abilities were more suited for supporting from the backline.

As for how that work...well, that was something that I had to look into.

After all, the things that they did were different from what normal hero units did.

"It’s delicious!"

"This kind of filling, I never would have thought of using something like this!"

"Not only that, the sauce itself gives the entire dish an entirely different taste!"

From these comments, it was clear what kind of tournament this was.

Though it wasn’t considered unpopular, it wasn’t as if it was as popular as the fighting tournament or even a few of the other tournaments. Though if it was a different time, then this would have certainly been much more popular.

It was just that at this time, people really couldn’t spend that much time caring about food.

It was a time of chaos where the forces of Destruction were causing problems all over the continent. So what people cared about more right now were those warriors that would take care of the forces of Destruction.

But the reason that I had come to watch this tournament was because I wanted to test something.

So I went behind the scenes and tweaked with the tournament a bit.

"Your majesty, is this really for the best?" The staff that were behind the scenes didn’t stop me, but it was clear that they were filled with doubt towards what I was doing.

I didn’t blame them since I would have thought the same thing as them if I was in their shoes.

But this was a test that was important.

So in the end, I finished making all the tweaks that I wanted to make and waited for the next round to begin.

"What a blazing fire!" That was all that the chefs could say when they turned on their magic stoves.

We had provided them with the best of the best equipment, so magic stoves like this were standard issue for all of the chefs.

The problem was that the flames that the magic stoves generated had been changed.

This was all because I had gone backstage to inject some divine energy flames into the magic stones that were inserted in these magic stoves.

Others wouldn’t have been able to do something like this without overloading those magic stones and destroying the magic stoves, but I was different. With my own divine energy, the divine energy flames from the relic obeyed me like a kitten.

So I was able to easily inject them into the magic stoves.

What the chefs were facing now were these divine energy flames.

Most of them didn’t seem like they knew what to do in front of these flames that were far stronger than what they normally used. It seemed like they couldn’t even stand too close to it out of fear that they would be burned by it.

But there were some that did approach these flames.

The way that they looked at the flames was as if they had found something interesting.

It seemed like they had found some kind of new ingredient for them to cook with.

Those were the ones that I paid attention to.

After all, I knew that they were the ones that I was looking for.

After a while, they finally took their ingredients and their cooking utensils before tossing it onto the flames. They didn’t hesitate at all to cook with this powerful and strange flame that they had never seen before.

Even though this flame was much stronger than the flames that they were used to, they knew exactly how to use it and how long to leave their cooking ware on the heat.

They didn’t let any of their food burn even though this flame was unfamiliar to them.

When these cooks did this, it inspired the others to start cooking as well with this unfamiliar flame.

It was just that they didn’t have the same talent as them.

There were a few of them that were able to stop their food from burning right away, but the rest just couldn’t do anything as they couldn’t figure out the timing for cooking with this divine energy flame.

By the time that they could react, their food had already burnt to a crisp.

They could only watch on in shock when they saw that their food burnt away like this.

They could only watch in dismay at the cinders of what had once been their food.

No one paid attention to them in the end since they were the ones that failed, including me. Though the ones that didn’t immediately burn their food I did take note of them since they at least had a bit of skill.

They were able to adapt to the heat of the divine energy flames, even if they weren’t able to adapt to it fully.

They would certainly be helpful in the future with a bit of training.

Whether that was as a line chef or as someone that would be able to learn how to cook with the divine energy flames.

The ones that everyone paid attention to were the ones that had been able to cook with the divine energy flames.

When it was over, they didn’t hesitate to bring out their food.

They had absolute confidence in the food that they made and there was good reason.

"It’s glowing..."

That was the only thing that the crowd could say when they saw the food that these people brought up.

They were normal dishes, but there was a faint white glow that was around it.

It really seemed like there was some kind of special effect that was attached to this food because of the flames that they used.

As for me, I could tell that this was divine energy that was wrapping around the food.
