"Are you sure that we should have run away like that...Papa?"
"It’ll be fine. What we’re doing is important for the upcoming battle, so I’m sure that everyone will understand."
The look of doubt that Dorothy gave me really hurt, but I kept a straight face as I said this.
The ones that were happy about this were Joan and the Fenrir who I had also brought with us.
Or it was better to say that they had caught us and wouldn’t have let us leave if I didn’t bring them along.
So in the end, I brought both of them along.
However, this was the conclusion that I had come to after realizing what kind of power the divine energy inside of me had.
For now, I had to find the people that I knew from the game to make us stronger.
Only with those elite hero units would our forces be much stronger than before.
Take Alidus as an example.
He had become a key component of our forces and even had the potential to become a demigod one day.
With him showing what was possible, I had no doubt that there would be others that would be able to reach the same level as him. After all, these were all hero units that could have been recruited when this world was still a game.
At the same time, I was certain that I still had plenty of points with the gods that I could get more divine relics from them.
So all that was needed were people that could wield those relics.
It was a bit strange that I didn’t think of this before, but then again, it wasn’t as if I knew that I could get those divine relics from the gods in the first place. If I knew, then I might have gone to find these hero units a long time ago.
"Are you sure that you’re not just running from something? If something is wrong, you can talk to us about it." Dorothy said in a concerned voice.
A part of me couldn’t help feeling bitter when she said this.
It would be a lie to say that I wasn’t partially running away from all of this because of what I had discovered.
But the other part was that I really did think that we would be able to do more if I were to recruit these hero units.
Then a third part of me...was afraid of what would happen when I returned.
I was certain that Rose and my other wives would have some choice words for me when I got back.
But right now, it wasn’t the time to think about that.
"We’re almost to our first destination." I said to change to topic.
Dorothy couldn’t help looking down from Joan’s back when she heard this.
Even if she was doubtful of this trip, that didn’t mean that Dorothy didn’t take advantage of this trip to see the world.
Since she had been born, she had been stuck in that prison the entire time.
Though she was given more freedom after we rescued her, the racial alliance still restricted her to a certain extent because of the power that she demonstrated. She had never had the chance to just go out and explore the world like we were currently doing.
That was why she couldn’t help looking around when I brought her out like this.
After landing near the city, I had Joan transform.
The reason that I had never taken Joan around with me before was because she was simply too big for me to take with me. Even if I wanted to take her with me, it wasn’t as if she could come along because of her size.
This all changed once she learned a special technique from the Fenrir.
The Fenrir had lived for a long time and had picked up quite a few things.
Among these things was an ability to change sizes.
So she was able to shrink down to the size of a dog rather than remaining as a giant wolf.
This was something that the Fenrir had also taught Joan.
She didn’t want to at first, but it seemed like there was some kind of deal that was made between Joan and the Fenrir. After all, it was Joan that found me first and then brought the Fenrir over as well.
It seemed that the relationship between the two of them was quite good.
Most likely because the Fenrir could tell that Joan was close to becoming a demigod, like the gods had told me previously.
When Joan shrank down, she became the size of a falcon.
Though her appearance didn’t change, she still looked like a wyvern.
But with her size, she looked like some kind of mini wyvern or even a baby wyvern.
This appearance was one that didn’t attract as much attention as the giant wyvern.
It would still attract attention, but it was easier to explain than a giant wyvern following me.
Once they had all transformed, we headed to the town.
This town was a town that was in one of the nearby kingdoms.
Though it was a different kingdom, it wasn’t actually separate from the Kite Kingdom since this place was one of the vassals of the Kite Kingdom.
It was one of the vassals that had joined after we had taken the Democratic Union in, so it was one of those newer vassals of the Kite Kingdom.
That was why most of the people here wouldn’t have recognized me even if they saw me.
But then again, I wasn’t careless and had put up a disguise spell as soon as we arrived so they wouldn’t see my true face.
With the fake identity that the prime minister prepared for me in the past just in case anything happened, it was easy for me to get through the gate.
At the same time, there was a wide smile that was on Dorothy’s face since she had been called my daughter when we entered.
