The corruption energy monsters that Dorothy summoned were all docile.
They were like tamed pets with the way that they acted around us.
But in the end, it wasn’t as if we could get too close to them since they were still monsters that were made from corruption energy.
If we were to get too close, the same thing would happen if we were attacked by corruption energy monsters.
This wasn’t their fault, it was just a fact that they were made from corruption energy in the first place.
The first one that Dorothy summoned was the one that I had us focus on, but it didn’t seem efficient to have everyone working on it. After all, there was only so much space around the containment unit that the first corruption energy monster was held in.
With everyone surrounding it like this, they were basically squeezing in and there wasn’t much space to work.
So to have everyone study the same thing really wasn’t a good use of our time.
That was why I had them spread out and study the things that they wanted to study.
But the main specimen was still the first corruption energy monster that was summoned, so we had to have some people studying that as well even if it didn’t seem like they were interested in it.
Still, they were renowned researchers that had come from all over the place.
Their ability was not something to look down on.
It didn’t take long for them to figure out some things about the structure of the corruption energy monster, showing that they were indeed very skilled. They were able to identify the weak spots of the corruption energy monster which would no doubt make things easier in the future to fight them.
With these notes, it was easy to develop a plan on how to fight them.
That was why we called in the guards that had been watching from the side.
Only before we could actually do anything, Dorothy suddenly came forward to stand in front of the corruption energy monster.
With her hand raised and her eyes narrowed, it was as if she was prepared to risk her body just to protect this corruption energy monster.
"What are you doing?" I asked her in a gentle voice, but it didn’t seem like Dorothy was about to move.
She just calmly asked, "What are you doing? Why are you trying to hurt my friend?"
I couldn’t help shaking my head with a faint smile before saying, "What do you mean by friend?"
"He’s my friend, what else could that mean?" She said as if this was an obvious thing.
When I heard this, I couldn’t help looking a bit confused.
After all, the way that she said this was as if she was very serious about this.
But this thing was a corruption energy monster, it was just like the ones that had trapped her inside of that pocket in space for so long. It was strange that she would be willing to call it a friend, even if she had been the one that summoned it.
It just didn’t seem to make sense at all.
So in the end, I said, "We just want to spar with it, we won’t hurt your friend. I promise that no one will hurt this friend of yours."
Dorothy narrowed her eyes to look at me again, but eventually she moved out of the way.
Though as she did, she said to the corruption energy monster inside, "Don’t worry, they won’t hurt you."
The corruption energy monster seemed to understand what she was saying as it calmed down, but the way that it was acting really was strange. It seemed like it had understood everything that happened and went along with what Dorothy was saying.
Since it was cooperating, then there was no reason to see what it was capable of doing.
Once the corruption energy monster was released, it followed Dorothy over to the sparring area that we had prepared.
The one that sparred with it was one of the royal guards since he was a representative of the overall power that the racial alliance had. He wasn’t that powerful, but it wasn’t as if he was weak either.
He was one of the average fighters in the racial alliance.
The main goal of this research was to find a way to take down the corruption energy monsters easier.
But the problem was that he had to hold back since he couldn’t do any fatal attacks.
When the royal guard looked at me as if he was asking for help, there really wasn’t anything that I could say.
Instead, I asked Dorothy, "Is it possible to summon one like this one that isn’t your friend?"
Though I didn’t really expect anything, Dorothy actually gave a nod in response to show that it was possible.
I couldn’t help looking at her with a strange look, but she just said, "Are there more of the corruption energy samples? I need to check them to see if there are any that aren’t friendly."
I couldn’t help looking even more confused when she said this, but I wanted to see what she was talking about. So in the end, I had the others bring out the other samples that we had so she could do what she wanted with them.
When they were brought out, Dorothy just went over them as if she was scanning them for something. It was almost as if she was looking for something specific when it came to the corruption energy samples.
She put down a few after looking at them and took the rest of them.
Seeing this, I couldn’t help asking, "Does that mean that most of the samples you used before were all bad ones?"
Dorothy shook her head before explaining, "No, there’s a mix of good and bad when it comes to the destruction energy. The ones that I used before, I pulled out the good energy and left the bad energy behind."
