"Do you have everything?" Rose asked in a concerned voice.

Dorothy gave a simple nod before opening her bag to show that she had already packed everything.

The way that the two of them went back and forth like this, it was almost as if Dorothy was packing for some kind of field trip.

However, it wasn’t as if this trip would take that long since we were only taking a trip down to the lab.

After Dorothy was adopted, she had been staying in the castle with us.

The lab that had been built wasn’t that far away from the castle in the first place since this was a special lab that had been built for Puffer. So it wasn’t as if we were going that far, it would only take a few minutes to walk down there.

Yet they were acting like they would be separated for a long time.

Even though Rose had just adopted Dorothy, she was already acting like she was her mother.

This was the attitude that she had when she adopted Dorothy in the first place and it seemed like she wasn’t going to treat Dorothy any different than her actual daughter.

Once she was finished packing, Dorothy came to my side so we could head off to the lab. Even though she was by my side, she didn’t seem to care about me at all as she was only looking at Rose with a longing look.

I really couldn’t help feeling a bit sad when she did this.

It wasn’t that she didn’t open herself to me since she had hid behind me when she had been surrounded by the researchers.

It was just that I couldn’t compare to the place that Rose had in her heart.

A mother really was more loved than a father...

Once we left, Dorothy finally raised her hand to take mine.

I treated her the same way since we had already made the decision to adopt her, so it wasn’t as if I would treat her differently from my blood related daughter since she was just as much my daughter as them.

When we arrived at the lab, the researchers immediately came forward to surround her. But the moment that they did, Dorothy did the same thing as before where she hid behind me and used me as a human shield.

It was only when she was in a situation like this that she remembered that she had a father like me.

I raised my hand to have the researchers back off before saying to Dorothy, "You can start with what we promised to do yesterday."

Dorothy gave a nod before walking towards the corruption energy samples that had been prepared. However, she didn’t enter the containment areas that had been created around those corruption energy samples.

After all, she knew that she wouldn’t be allowed inside of those containment areas.

After coming closer, she raised her hand and seemed to be connecting with the corruption energy samples inside.

Once there was a reaction from the corruption energy, Dorothy brought her hand down and moved onto the next sample.

The corruption energy samples inside gathered together until they took a familiar form.

They took the form of the corruption energy monsters that we had seen previously.

This was the form that we were the most familiar with when it came to the corruption energy monsters, so we were able to recognize it right away.

When this corruption energy monster appeared, there were a few researchers that couldn’t help reacting.

Some of them showed a trace of fear towards this corruption energy monster. Some of them showed anger towards this corruption energy monster. Then there were those that showed direct murderous intent.

The forces of Destruction had already harmed the racial alliance quite a bit, so there were grudges that were formed among its people. It wasn’t strange that even these researchers would feel this way about the corruption energy monsters.

Though in the end, they held themselves back.

However, they were surprised to see the next corruption energy monster that appeared.

It was a form that I had seen before, but the other researchers weren’t as familiar with.

"Was there more corruption energy samples inside of there?"

"No, there was the same amount as the others that were in there."

"That’s strange, how did it become bigger than?"

The second corruption energy monster that Dorothy created was one that was bigger than the first one. This one seemed like it was filled with much more corruption energy, but that wasn’t the case.

But this wasn’t the only one that was different.

The next one had extra appendages.

The one after that seemed to be in the shape of a lizard rather than a humanoid creature.

It seemed like there were all kinds of corruption energy monsters that she was creating.

So I couldn’t help stepping forward to say, "Are these all corruption energy monsters?"

"Monsters? They’re friends." That was the first thing that Dorothy said.

Then she said, "They have different shapes because they are all different."

I couldn’t help shaking my head with a wry smile when I heard this before saying, "The ones that are used by the forces of Destruction, those are the same, right?"

"They are because they are bad." Dorothy said without any hesitation before turning back to keep summoning the corruption energy monsters.

"Huh?" I was very confused when she said this, but I didn’t stop her this time as I wanted to see what else she would summon.

The researchers on the other hand didn’t seem to mind as they started looking at the different corruption energy monsters that had been summoned.

Though in the end, I stopped them and had them focus on the first one since that was the one that was the most common among our enemies.

For now, we would study that one to see if we could find any weaknesses in that one corruption energy monster to make it easier for our forces to take down.
