When I was done explaining what had happened, there were complicated looks that were on their faces.

Even without asking them anything, I could already guess what they were thinking.

It was the same thing that I was thinking, so it wasn’t strange that they were thinking the same thing.

However, it seemed like they also had thoughts different from the others just like me.

"That poor girl."

That was the first thing that Rose said after I finished telling the story.

The others all nodded in agreement when they heard this.

I couldn’t help letting out an internal sigh of relief when I heard this.

It wasn’t that I was safe because they felt this way, it was more that I was relieved that they felt this way after hearing Dorothy’s story. If they felt the same way as some of the others had after seeing Dorothy’s power...

I really didn’t know what I would have done.

After all, it wasn’t as if I could say anything if they were to tell me to get rid of Dorothy.

If it came to it...I could only listen to them.

But it was a good thing that it didn’t come to this.

Still, they said, "You did a good thing taking her in, but are you certain that something won’t happen to her."

Even if they didn’t want to feel this way about her, they had to since they had the children to worry about. If something did happen, then it would be too late to regret it.

I also thought the same thing, but I said, "It’ll be fine. She’s stable for now and it doesn’t seem like anything will happen. Even if something does happen, I’ll be here to take care of it."

They seemed a bit relieved when they heard this and gave nods to show that they trusted me.

But Rose still had to ask, "What are you planning to do with her?"

This was something that I didn’t answer as easily.

Even if I had already thought this through, it wasn’t as if it was that easy to answer that question.

They didn’t push me when they saw the look on my face since they could understand what I was conflicted over.

"Let’s go talk to her first before we decide."

Rose and the others nodded in agreement when they heard me say this.

Though when we went to find her, we were surprised to find that there were others that were with Dorothy.

It wasn’t the maids, but rather it was our daughters who were here with her.

It seemed that all four of them were enjoying their snacks together.

Without knowing it, they had become friends and were having fun eating together like this.

Though he wasn’t as prominent at first, we soon noticed that they had dragged their baby brother along as well. He had just been sitting on the side looking as if he was bored with all of this.

As a fellow man, I couldn’t help sympathizing with my son when I saw him like this.

But I didn’t make a move to save him.

The one that went forward was Rose who asked, "What’s going on here?"

She didn’t ask this question to the maids, but rather to her own daughter Lily.

Lily looked at Rose and said, "We came to have snacks and we saw this big sister eating alone."

Isabella and Freya both nodded to confirm this before Lily continued by saying, "We saw that she was alone, so we wanted to keep her company."

The way that she said this was as if she didn’t believe that she had done anything wrong.

Though Rose kept a straight look on her face, I could tell that there were different emotions in her eyes. Since I had been with her for so long, it was easy for me to tell when she had these different emotions.

Pride and doting.

That was how she felt at this moment.

It was the same for Cecilia and Haley who were watching from the side.

After a moment of silence, Rose said with an approving nod, "No, you didn’t do anything wrong. You did a good thing."

But her tone did change as she said, "However, we have some things that we want to talk about with this big sister, so finish your snacks and go play."

"Bu."

Our daughters pouted their lips when they heard this as if they weren’t happy that they were being excluded like this. At the same time, it seemed like they weren’t happy that they were being kept away from this new friend that they made.

On the other side, it seemed like Dorothy was feeling the same with the slight trace of disappointment in her eyes. But in the end, Dorothy was a guest and it wasn’t as if she felt that it was her place to say anything.

Since this was an order from their mother, it wasn’t as if our daughters could say anything.

Even if they looked at me as if they were asking for help, I just didn’t say anything.

"Sorry babies, I can’t go against your mother either." I silently thought as I turned away from their gazes.

So there was nothing that they could do and they were led away by the maids.

When it was over, there was only Dorothy and us that were left in the room.

She looked at me as if she was hoping that I would help her, but there really wasn’t anything that I could do at this point.

In fact, I was the least significant person that was in this room.

Rose suddenly revealed a smile and asked, "We’ve heard your story, but we still have to ask you one thing. Where are your parents?"

Dorothy was surprised to be asked this, but then she answered without any hesitation, "I don’t have any."

"Well, if you don’t know where to find them, we can always..."

"No, they’re dead." Dorothy said without any hesitation.
