When I came back, I found that the pope and Old Man Lancelot were waiting for me.
It was just that I didn't expect to see the expressions that were on their faces.
Old Man Lancelot seemed like he was still as determined as before.
As for the popes, it seemed like they were exhausted by something.
As for what that was…it was most likely related to the thing that I asked them to take care of.
Since Old Man Lancelot didn't seem like he had changed his mind, it could only be said that they had failed in their attempt to persuade him. It seemed like he was still as determined to take this vengeance of his.
"I'll have to watch over him just in case." I made a mental note to myself after seeing all of this.
For now, he was still stable at the very least.
The way that Old Man Lancelot was looking at me was as if he was waiting for me to give him something. I knew what he was waiting for since this was the thing that I had promised him in the first place.
It was just that this certainly wasn't the place to do so.
If I were to hand it to him and something were to happen, I'm sure that the popes of the Holy Empire would completely lose their minds.
That was why I asked, "Is there a place for us to create a mess?"
The popes were surprised to hear this, but they didn't waste any time in bringing to a place that suited this request of mine. This was the place that the holy knights of the Holy Empire trained, so this was a place that was designed to be messed up.
It was also the perfect place for this former Black Knight to get used to his new weapon.
After I looked around and was satisfied with this place, I took out the divine relic that I had gotten for Old Man Lancelot.
Only before I could actually hand it over to him, I was immediately surrounded by the popes that all wanted a closer look at this divine relic.
They weren't the only ones that stepped forward, but they were the only ones that surrounded me like this. For the other holy knights and priests that were in this place, they just didn't feel confident enough to surround me like the popes did.
If they felt confident enough, they certainly would have done the same thing.
That was just how fanatical these people from the Holy Empire felt about anything that was related to the divine.
After a while, they seemed to have had their fill of the divine relic that I took out and I was finally able to move over to show it to Old Man Lancelot.
"Strange shape."
That was the first thing that he said when he saw this divine relic that I handed him.
I didn't deny this since for a knight, this thing really was a strange shaped divine relic. However, it seemed like the popes and the others from the Holy Empire didn't really seem happy about what he said.
They took what he said as an insult towards the divine relic after all.
But I knew that this wasn't the case based on the expression on his face.
The holy knights should have seen it as well since they were properly trained knights, but their fanatical sides took them over and they weren't in any shape to notice this.
The truth was that he didn't say this to insult this divine relic, but it was just an actual comment on the shape.
For a knight like him, he was naturally only interested in the shape of his weapon.
That was why he was carefully inspecting the divine relic in my hand.
Though he was right that a thunder bolt like this was a strange weapon for a knight like him to wield. It certainly would have been strange to swing this thunder bolt around like a sword.
After observing it for a bit, he asked, "What can it do?"
I had been expecting this already, so I just pointed the thunder bolt at one of the targets nearby.
When I pointed this thunder bolt at the target, it suddenly lit up along with the Mark of God on my hand. After what seemed like it was gathering power for a while, the thunder bolt suddenly released a bolt of thunder at the target.
When it was over, there was a hole that had been created in the chest of the target.
The popes and the others from the Holy Empire clapped for this demonstration, but it didn't seem like Old Man Lancelot was impressed by this. In fact, it almost seemed like he was disappointed.
After a moment of silence, he asked, "Is this the only thing that it can do?"
The ones from the Holy Empire were once again annoyed that he was complaining about this divine relic, but I wasn't annoyed. Instead, I could see what he was expecting from the divine relic and I approved of this.
"It can do far more than this, this is just a basic demonstration of what it is capable of. This is a divine relic that is made of the Thunder God's power, so of course it can do far more than this. It's just that…" After a pause, I said, "You might not be able to use it to that level."
"What do you mean?" Old Man Lancelot narrowed his eyes when he heard this.
I just calmly explained what the reason was, but I also added, "They said that you would be able to use it as long as you tap into your previous potential. After all, you were once someone that was destined to become a Sword Saint."
"Sword Saint, huh?" Old Man Lancelot repeated after I said this.
When he said this, it seemed like there was a sad look that appeared in his eyes.
