"Are you sure about this?"
Even though the answer that they gave me was very favourable to me since they were offering me these divine relics, I still couldn't help asking this question.
It really was like I was sticking my foot in my mouth by asking this question.
But if I didn't ask this question…
I simply couldn't hold back my concern on why they would agree so easily.
"It's simply because you earned it." The slight chuckle that was in Solista's voice as she said this made it clear that she found my reaction funny.
She wasn't the only one that was laughing at this, the other gods also seemed to find this funny.
Though I just couldn't feel the same way as them and I certainly didn't find any of this funny.
"What do you mean when you say earned it?" I asked in a serious voice.
"Well, it means what it means. You've earned the right to these divine relics a long time ago by fighting against the forces of Destruction all this time."
I looked surprised to hear this, but Solista continued by saying, "Did you really think so little of us that you thought that we wouldn't give you anything in return for dealing with them? You've already taken down two of the Four Omens, that's quite the big deal."
A bitter smile appeared on my face as I said, "Well, you never mentioned this before…"
Solista didn't even bat an eye as she said, "Well, the divine relics that we offer have conditions to them, so it wasn't as if you would have been able to use them if you were to take them."
My face immediately sank when I heard this before I glared at her and said, "Then what's the point of offering these divine relics to me in the first place?"
Solista just calmly said, "They're powerful relics that you can use since you possess the mark that I gave you, but it's not the same for others. You clearly don't need more divine relics from us since you already have so many, it isn't as if you would be able to use them all. It's just that if you want to give them to others like you're planning, they wouldn't be able to use them since they didn't match the requirements."
I slowly nodded to show that I understood what she was saying, but still, "Then is there a point giving them to me now if others can't use them?"
"It's different now, you've brought someone that can use them."
"You mean…" I didn't finish my sentence, but it was clear who I was referring to.
"The one that you've brought, he was originally supposed to take the title of Sword Saint." Solista explained, but that just raised my questions.
"Sword Saint?" I couldn't help repeating after her.
"That's right. It's someone that has reached the peak of swordsmanship. Someone that becomes a Sword Saint is someone that already has a step into the divine realm. While he isn't a demigod, he would be able to face a demigod head on."
I couldn't help being surprised by this.
Sword Saint was something that had existed in this world when it was still a game, but it certainly didn't have the same kind of weight as Solista was giving it.
Sword Saint was just one of the classes that the player could achieve, but it was certainly a hard class to obtain. It was considered one of those secret hidden classes that had many requirements to achieve.
Lancelot was the legendary Black Knight, so I guess it made sense that he would be qualified to become a Sword Saint.
However, there was something that I had to ask, "He's been corroded by the corruption energy for so long, is he really still qualified to become the Sword Saint?"
Solista didn't answer right away this time as she gave a sigh as if she felt that it was a shame, but she eventually said with a shake of her head, "No, he's not qualified anymore."
I immediately knitted my brows and looked at her with a confused look after she said this.
One moment she was saying that he was qualified to be the Sword Saint and the next, she was going back on these words. It wouldn't have mattered if Sword Saint was just a normal class, but it wasn't.
It was necessary for Lancelot to use the divine relic that they were about to give me.
If he wasn't able to become a Sword Saint, then did that mean that he wouldn't be able to use it?
Then it would be meaningless for them to give me this divine relic.
"Even if he isn't qualified anymore, that doesn't mean that he's completely lost his qualifications. As long as he trains properly, he can become the Sword Saint once more. At the same time, since he was once qualified to become the Sword Saint, it means that his body is compatible with accepting divine energy. He will be able to draw out the divine energy of the divine relic that we give him." Solista explained all of this.
But then after a pause, she felt like she had to add, "Though how much power he will be able to draw out will depend on him. It'll depend on how he will be able to connect with the divine relic to draw out its power. Though I have faith in him since he was once qualified to become the Sword Saint, there's no doubt that he has the talent."
I narrowed my eyes to look at her after she said this, but it didn't seem like Solista had anything else to say.
In the end, I just shook my head and said with a sigh, "I hope that this is the case."
When I stopped, I looked back up at her and said, "Alright, show me the divine relics that you have to offer. I want to see if I can find a good one for him."
