"What are you planning to do here?" Klein asked in a shocked voice as he looked up at the mountain that was in front of us.
The reason that he was shocked was because he couldn’t see the top of this mountain at all.
When I had told them that I wasn’t heading back yet, they had already been skeptical. But now that they saw that I brought them to this place, they started looking at me as if they thought that there was something wrong with me.
I didn’t blame them since I had suddenly brought them to the highest mountain on the continent.
This was a place that was so high that no one had ever reached the peak before.
It was said that only the mightiest of creatures would be able to reach the peak, but no one had ever confirmed this before. After all, the peak of this mountain was just too high for anyone to reach.
Even the great sages of the Sorcery Empire had tried before with their powerful magic, but they weren’t able to do anything.
But for someone like me who came from a different world, I knew exactly what was hidden here.
At the very peak of this mountain, there was a castle.
It wasn’t the castle of a powerful dragon like one might think, but rather this was the castle of a certain spirit. Though this spirit wasn’t just a normal spirit, it was one of the Spirit Kings.
It was the Wind Spirit King, Sylph that I was looking for.
I had saved this Wind Spirit King for last because the hardest part about reaching them was to reach the peak of this mountain. But now it seemed like I had no choice but to do this since I needed their power.
After a moment of silence, I said, "Come on, let’s start climbing."
Klein and the others looked at me with strange looks, but they still followed me even though the doubt in their eyes was clear.
They wanted to stop me from going up this mountain since they knew that it would be dangerous, but it didn’t seem like they knew what to say.
As we climbed up the mountain, what one expected to happen happened.
This was a mountain that reached a high altitude, which meant that the oxygen in the air became much thinner and there was less heat in the air.
This wasn’t really a problem since I had Ifrit giving us heat and there were wind spirits in the air that I could use to provide oxygen with.
Even though Ifrit, Undine, and Oread weren’t the Wind Spirit King, their positions as Spirit Kings were more than enough to pressure these wind spirits to follow orders.
So that was how I was able to make use of the wind spirits even though I hadn’t subdued the Wind Spirit King yet.
But as we continued up this mountain, I could feel the uneasiness that came from Klein and the others.
Eventually, Klein couldn’t help asking, "Shouldn’t we start making our way down?"
This was a reasonable question since we hadn’t found anything so far.
If we were to continue going up this mountain without finding anything, it really seemed like it was just a matter of time before we froze to death. That was why he was suggesting that we head down, but it was more an excuse from him than anything else.
It was a polite way of saying...
"Are you crazy? Let’s leave!"
But I didn’t say anything as I looked around in front of me.
After a while, I pointed in a certain direction and said, "We’re here."
Without explaining what I meant by this, I headed in the direction that I had pointed in.
After walking in that direction for a few minutes, we arrived at a cave.
This was a cave that seemed to be leading into the side of the mountain and a cave that seemed to be a good shelter from the cold, but it certainly wasn’t enough for Klein and the others to feel optimistic about this.
After all, it still didn’t seem like there was a reason for them to be climbing this mountain in the first place.
I didn’t say anything as I walked into the cave, so they had no choice but to follow me.
Once we were in the cave, they found that this cave was different from what they had expected.
With the flames that I created with Ifrit’s power, we could see everything that was here.
This wasn’t a simple shelter, but a cave that seemed to be leading deep into the mountain. At the very least, it seemed to be leading up the mountain rather than leading down.
But even then, Klein and the others still had no idea what this place was.
I just ignored the way that they looked at me as I said, "Come on, there’s no time to waste."
Once again, they had no choice but to follow me.
This cave was quite big so that even the wyverns were able to fit in this cave and follow us up.
But it didn’t seem like there was anything in this cave at all.
The only thing that I saw were a few symbols that had been carved in the cave that showed that we were on the right path.
For Klein and the others that didn’t know what this cave was, it was only natural that they would feel more and more anxious about being here.
After a while, we finally arrived at the end of the cave.
It was a gate that seemed to be heavily locked.
But I didn’t worry as I went to the side of this gate and rapped my knuckle against the wall a few times before finding what I was looking for.
I tapped the jut that was there and soon there was a passage that appeared in this wall for us to enter.
