So in the end, I didn’t answer as I created more pillars of earth from out of the ground.
The member of the Four Omens shook his head and seemed disappointed as he created more tendrils of corruption energy from out of the ground to shatter these pillars of earth.
After shattering them for a bit, he asked with a sigh, "Is this really all that you have? So this was your plan?"
There was no hiding the disappointment that was in his voice, but I didn’t say anything as I continued creating the pillars of earth out of the ground.
"You face Pestilence of the Four Omens and this is all that you bring? I am truly disappointed in you, human. I’ll end this now."
As soon as Pestilence said this, I gave a signal to Alidus who had been waiting on the side the entire time.
Once he received this signal, he didn’t waste any time in charging forward.
At the same time, the saintess raised her hand and buffed him with her holy magic.
Pestilence gave a snort when he saw this before he raised his hand to create more tendrils of corruption energy. Some of the tendrils came forward to deal with the pillars of earth that I created, the others went to restrain Alidus.
It was just that this time, the tendrils of corruption energy didn’t break through the pillars of earth that easily.
Instead, when they tried to pierce through, it seemed like they had no effect on it at all.
There wasn’t even the slightest bit of earth that was broken off from the pillars when those sharp tendrils pierced into them.
"Huh?" Pestilence couldn’t help making this sound when it saw this.
At the same time, there were vines that came out from behind Alidus that went towards the tendrils of corruption energy that was in front of him. They easily restrained the tendrils of corruption energy and pushed them to the side, clearing a path for Alidus to charge at Pestilence.
Pestilence didn’t have time to remain in a daze like this when it saw Alidus coming closer and closer.
So the only thing that Pestilence could do in the end was gather corruption energy that it wielded and release a wave of spikes in front of it to deter Alidus.
But once again, this didn’t have any effect as more vines came out of the ground.
These vines went ahead of Alidus to smack the spikes of corruption energy that formed, shattering before they could even reach Alidus.
Once again, the path before Alidus was cleared out for him.
Pestilence seemed really annoyed as it said, "You think that you can bring me down with just a few tricks like this?"
As soon as it said this, there was what seemed to be a scythe of corruption energy that was formed in its hands. It brought this up at the club that Alidus was swinging down at it.
This time, I didn’t do anything to back Alidus.
This time, I created spikes of earth behind Pestilence to stab its back.
There was a layer of corruption energy that formed behind it that seemed to protect it, but this was instantly shattered by the earth spikes.
"How is this possible?" Pestilence said as it was being stabbed from behind by the earth spikes.
As for the club that Alidus swung down at it, this was easily blocked by Pestilence.
Even though Pestilence had been weakened by the earth spikes stabbing it in the back which made its swing weaker, the scythe was able to push back Alidus’ club without much issue.
That was just the difference between one of the Four Omens that was on the same level as a demigod and someone who was just relying on a relic.
Alidus might reach the demigod level one day, but it wasn’t today.
There was a wry look that appeared on Alidus’ face when he saw this.
Even though he knew that his only task was to act as a decoy, it still wasn’t a good feeling seeing his attack being deflected so easily.
Once the earth spikes stabbed the back of Pestilence, I didn’t waste any time in creating even more attacks.
Ice spikes, sharp vines, and a layer of mist all came out.
All of them came from different directions to confuse Pestilence.
In the end, the only thing that Pestilence could do was wildly swing its scythe and do its best to resist. But it was just completely outclassed by the attacks that I sent in its direction.
Seeing this, I couldn’t help thinking to myself, "It shouldn’t be like this, right?"
After all, the way that Pestilence struggled to fight against me made it seem like it wasn’t that much stronger than Famine who I fought previously.
It seemed like Pestilence really couldn’t do anything against me.
"Does that mean that the Four Omens are all of the same strength? If that’s the case, then what happens after I obtain the other two inheritances? Does that mean that I’ll become strong enough to face even the God of Destruction? But if that’s the case, then that would mean that I would become a God of Creation..."
It really was confusing seeing Pestilence struggle like this.
But in the end, I was able to weaken him to the point where he wasn’t able to fight anymore.
I could see the way that the others looked at me, but I didn’t say anything as I moved forward towards Pestilence.
I wasn’t worried that it would do anything since I had already done enough to completely restrain it. Even if it wanted to do something, there really wasn’t anything that Pestilence could do at this point.
Once I approached, Pestilence looked up at me from the ground and asked, "Just what are you?"
This was a question that I couldn’t answer myself since I had no idea what I had become after receiving those two inheritances from the God of Creation...
