When Pestilence turned around, there was a change that occurred with the array formed from the pillars of light.
It seemed that it was gathering even more strength, as if it wouldn’t allow Pestilence to leave.
However, Pestilence didn’t seem to care about this array at all.
The only thing that he cared about was the corruption energy array.
Pestilence didn’t bother dealing with the pillars of light himself as he waved his hand and walked away.
The moment that he did, there were Apostles of Destruction that had gathered.
As one of the Four Omens, it was only normal that he would have control over these Apostles of Destruction and would be able to command them with a single thought. That was why they had all gathered instantly when Pestilence waved his hand like this.
After gathering, all of the Apostles of Destruction charged at the center pillar of light with their corruption energy monster armies.
It seemed that they didn’t even care what happened to them as they kept charging even when they were attacked. It was as if they were planning on using their lives just to stop this array.
As such, there was nothing that anyone could do to stop Pestilence from leaving this place.
There was a fierce fight that happened between those that controlled the pillars of light and the Apostles of Destruction, but there was a balance that was also established.
There really wasn’t anything that could be done by either side, though it did seem like the Apostles of Destruction were being pushed back.
This was an array that Pestilence thought was the racial alliance going all out against him, so it did have power behind it. It was only natural that the Apostles of Destruction would be pushed back by this.
If it wasn’t for the fact that the Apostles of Destruction were fighting without care for their own lives, then they wouldn’t have stalled the racial alliance like this.
It would end with the Apostles of Destruction being pushed back, but at least Pestilence was able to leave this place without a problem.
Pestilence wasted no time in heading back to the corruption energy array, but when he arrived...
"What is going on here? I could have sworn that I sensed a disturbance coming from here."
It wasn’t that Pestilence came back for no reason, it was all because he felt that someone had been trying to do something to the corruption energy array.
He thought that this was their main target all along...
It was just that there wasn’t a single thing that changed about this place.
The more that Pestilence looked around, the more that he felt that there was something off about this place.
"Where are the orcs?" Pestilence finally seemed to notice what was wrong with this place.
All of the mutated orcs that had been gathered seemed to have been taken away...
But was that really all that they wanted?
Why would they only care about saving the orcs?
After all, there were still plenty of orcs that were under the control of the corruption energy. It would have been easy to gather them from all over the areas that they controlled, so it wasn’t as if there was anything to gain from taking these orcs away.
It was just that Pestilence couldn’t help feeling that there was something strange about these actions. This was a feeling that he couldn’t ignore in the end as he chose to follow to see what they were up to.
After moving for a bit, Pestilence realized that this was a second trap.
It was a very strange trap since it didn’t feel like a trap at all.
Even when they surrounded him, he didn’t really feel like this was a trap since there were so few of them in the first place. It didn’t seem like they would be able to do anything to him at all with just these people.
"Is this really all of you? This doesn’t seem fair."
"You’re right, it isn’t fair."
When Pestilence heard this, he couldn’t help knitting his brows.
...
"It worked, we drew him out. Now it’s all about whether we can take him down or not." I thought as I looked at the others.
The good news was that they were focused.
The bad news was that they didn’t actually think that we could do this.
Even if they had serious looks on their faces as if they were prepared to go all out, it was clear by the nervous looks that they had that they didn’t think that this would work.
They were even surprised that it had come this far.
However, since they knew that we had no other choice, the only thing that they could do was see this through to the end.
I was the one that stepped forward first while raising the Staff of Earth.
With my third step, there were pillars of earth that came out of the ground and came around that member of the Four Omens.
When the member of the Four Omens saw this, it didn’t panic as if it raised its hand to create tendrils of corruption energy that stabbed right through the pillars of earth that I created.
After it stopped these pillars of earth, that member of the Four Omens asked, "Is that really it? I thought that you said that this wouldn’t be fair for me?"
It was clear that this member of the Four Omens was just taunting us at this point, but that was what I wanted to see.
After all, I had held back when I created these pillars of earth.
I didn’t want this member of the Four Omens to be cautious, I wanted it to think that it had the upper hand.
Those that thought that victory was close at hand were the most prone to making mistakes at a critical moment.
This was why this member of the Four Omens lost in the end.
