It turned out that I could hit them quite hard.
The corruption energy that was stuffed into these mutated orcs really seemed to be endless.
As I used more and more divine energy in my attacks, that was when it finally seemed like they were being drained of their corruption energy.
This was shown by their skin slowly returning to their normal green colour.
After they were drained of their corruption energy, it seemed like they were drained of all their energy with the way that they collapsed on the ground.
It even seemed like they were dead with how they acted, but...
"They’re still breathing." I said with a sigh of relief when I saw their bodies still moving while they were laying on the ground. This was a very small movement, but I was able to see it with my enhanced vision.
If it wasn’t for that, then I really would have thought that I had killed them.
While it wasn’t certain that they had been purified of the corruption energy, at least they had calmed down. Or rather they had run out of energy completely and weren’t planning on fighting anymore.
With these few orcs taken down at first, it was easier for us to deal with the mutated orcs that were still up.
Though now that their numbers had dwindled, it seemed that they were more cautious. Though in a way, it could be said that they were less cautious as they charged into the holy flames.
Those flames could hurt them a little bit, but it wasn’t as if it was the same as the divine energy attacks that I threw at them.
They sacrificed a piece of meat to do as much damage as possible.
But in the end, they just couldn’t escape me.
Other than these divine relics, there was something else that I could rely on now that I had made two contracts with two Spirit Kings.
"This is a kind of power that I’ve never felt before."
"Be quiet, fire boy and deal with these orcs first."
I shared the divine power that I possessed with Ifrit and Undine since they had formed a contract with me. Through this contract, I was able to share the divine power with them and they were able to use it in their flames and water.
That meant that I wasn’t the only one that could deal with these orcs.
With Ifrit and Undine helping, we were able to corner the mutated orcs and purify them in the end.
"Run."
It was a surprise to hear this from them, but once the mutated orcs saw that there were only a few of them left, they didn’t hesitate to turn and run. They knew that they wouldn’t be able to do anything against me after I purified so many of them, so they chose to retreat.
Though it wasn’t as if I would allow them.
"Block them!" One of them suddenly said as the others mutated orcs started moving around it to block my attacks.
"Is this one a special one? Then I have to capture it."
Though I said this, I found that this was harder done than said.
After all, the mutated orcs suddenly seemed to cooperate with each other to create a path for this one mutated orc.
This was a level of cooperation that they hadn’t demonstrated before.
Even though the mutated orcs did work with each other to a certain extent, they didn’t have any coordinated moves that they used since they relied more on individual power than they did in shared power.
But now it was almost as if they were moving like they had a single mind.
The mutated orcs were just too tanky for me to take them down fast enough, even with the help of Ifrit and Undine.
So in the end, it was a group of mutated orcs that were able to retreat back to their territory.
We could have chased, but it was dangerous to follow them back into a place that had already been taken over by the corruption energy.
That was why we turned back to see if we could get anything from the orcs that we had captured.
Of course, the first thing that I did was create a cage of divine energy around them.
I didn’t want to be caught off guard.
When the orcs finally woke up, they looked surprised and confused to find themselves inside of this cage of ice, earth, and mist. But they soon quickly adapted and seemed like they were getting agitated.
"Do you not remember what happened to you?" I couldn’t help asking them when I saw them like this.
The orcs looked even more confused when they heard this, but then they seemed to slowly remember something. It seemed that when they were purified, there was a temporary lapse in memory.
But once they woke up, it seemed like they were slowly remembering what happened.
As they did, it seemed like the orcs were filled with fear.
Orcs weren’t known for much, but there was one thing that the orcs were known for.
They were creatures of brawn that relied on muscle and courage to fight their enemies.
So for these orcs to show these looks of fear, it was clear that it had to be something terrifying that orcs would be afraid like this.
"What happened?" I asked the orcs after seeing them like this.
The orcs didn’t seem to register what I said, so I asked them this question again and again until they were finally willing to answer.
"It was a black tide and out of that tide came the devil..."
That was all that they had to say when I asked them about this.
No matter how I pushed them, it didn’t seem like there was any other information that they had for us.
So in the end, the only thing that I could do was gather the higher ups of the racial alliance to discuss this.
