Once they approached, Joan shot her flames at them.
Only this time, the flames weren’t released as a wave of white flames.
Instead, the flames were released as a pillar that was aimed right at the mutated orcs.
It was done so that they wouldn’t be able to dodge out of the way.
Since it wasn’t a wave of flames, that meant that the flames were concentrated into a single pillar and it was much stronger than before. At the same time, since there wasn’t as much space that was needed to travel through, it meant that it was much faster than before.
So the pillar of flames reached the mutated orcs in an instant, even more than usual since they had come so close.
The mutated orcs seemed like they were caught off guard by these flames and they had no choice but to take it head on with their bodies.
When they chose to take it head on, it seemed that they threw away their weapons and seemed to grow their muscles.
Before they were swallowed by the white flames, they suddenly grew to twice the size as before.
When they were swallowed by the flames, it seemed like they were still growing in size.
After these flames washed over the orcs, it seemed like they didn’t come out much worse for wear.
There were some parts of their black skin that seemed to have been burnt and purified by the flames, but it seemed like they were able to resist the power of Joan’s flames.
These were flames that had been enhanced by my divine power as well, which meant that these mutated orcs were quite powerful. Not only did they resist the divine power that came from the Mark of God that Joan possessed, they also resisted my divine power that was even more special...
"Just how much corruption energy is inside of them?" I couldn’t help muttering under my breath when I saw this.
I could easily see that it was because there was a large concentration of corruption energy under the skin of these mutated orcs that they were able to resist these flames.
Especially with how they had swelled their bodies all of a sudden like this.
But there should be a limit to how much the bodies of these orcs could take in before they were completely destroyed by the corruption energy.
It was just that with the way that they resisted Joan’s flame breath, it really didn’t seem like there was a limit.
After all, it seemed like they were still growing in size even after being hit with the flame breath.
It was just that there wasn’t the time to think about it.
"Go up." I said to Joan who seemed to be sulking over the fact that her flames didn’t take down these mutated orcs.
After all, there were still other mutated orcs that were coming at us.
The ones that we had hit with the flame breath stopped, but the rest of them continued to charge as if they were planning to bring us down.
Even after flying up into the sky, they suddenly jumped up at us.
It was surprising to see just how high these mutated orcs were able to jump.
They actually reached the same altitude as Joan with just a single jump and were planning to swing their clubs at us.
But before they could do that, they had no choice but to position their clubs in front of them. That was because they saw that I had prepared icicles that I shot at all of them.
The mutated orcs had no choice but to block these icicles since they could feel the danger that came from them.
I couldn’t help knitting my brows slightly seeing how easily the mutated orcs blocked them.
However, we also couldn’t remain up in the air for too long since judging by the strength that the mutated orcs showed, the racial alliance army wouldn’t be able to stand up against them for long.
They really were just too strong...
"Fire from afar and keep them away!" I shouted back at the racial alliance army that had been following me.
They suddenly stopped charging forward and immediately sent the wyverns to the front.
On the back of each of the wyverns were priests and holy knights that used their buff spells on the wyverns to create the holy flame breaths.
With all of these holy flame breaths creating a wave, the mutated orcs moved away.
While the mutated orcs weren’t actually afraid of the holy flames that were being shot at them, it seemed like they didn’t want to deal with them either. After all, they had already faced the divine flames that I shot at them and could come away from that.
The holy flames that were weaker should only sting them a bit instead of actually hurting them.
"It seems like unless I get serious, I won’t be able to take care of them. At least they seem sturdy enough that I won’t accidentally kill them..."
Everything that I had done so far was only done with a fraction of my actual power.
After all, the goal was to see if I could change these mutated orcs back to their normal form. It wasn’t as if I was trying to kill them or anything, even though it was clear that they wanted to kill us.
The whole point of coming here was to see if we could save the orcs from the corruption energy.
So it would defeat the purpose of that to kill them.
Though it certainly did seem like it was hard to do so.
With a thought, I pulled out the Staff of Earth, the scarf, and the branch from the Tree of Life as well.
Since I had gotten this divine energy, it had been in my nature to carry these around since it was best to have as many weapons to use this divine energy with as I could.
"Now, let’s see how hard I can hit them."
