In the end, it was the sly looking noble that finally broke the silence by saying, "We can keep playing this game forever, but there's nothing that we'll gain from this. Let's just end the matter here today. I'll let you take her and I won't pursue this matter, what do you think?"
The way that he said this was as if he was making a big compromise on this matter.
However, I didn't accept this.
After all, in the first place, I had come here with a single goal.
It was the reason why I had done all of this in the first place.
As if he could tell that I was about to reject him, the sly looking noble's smile finally disappeared and he revealed a frown.
Raising his hand, he suddenly pulled something off the ground.
"Jingle."
That was the sound that this thing made when it was pulled through the air like this.
After grabbing it, the sly looking noble just opened his hand to show this thing to everyone as he said, "Do you think that you can deny it with this evidence? It's clear that you did something to destroy these bindings that I put on her."
This thing that he was showing everyone was a small bracelet that was shaped like chains.
This small thing was actually the Chains of Misfid, the ones that I had just burned off of Ann's wrist just now.
When I approached her earlier, that was when I had cut through them with the special flame orb that I prepared. This was one of the special orbs that had contained the corruption energy previously before it was purified into a normal and still special orb.
I had figured out a way to draw out the energy of this orb in a way different from putting these orbs into the undead.
And the flame energy that had been used to fill this orb was very special.
It was the flame energy that came from Joan's breath.
This kind of concentrated flame energy produced a heat that no other kind of fire magic could match and had been used to burn right through the chains.
Though the downside was that it turned the orb into a one use item.
No, even without the strong fire energy, it would have turned into a one use item since the way that the orb released the energy was to break it. Breaking it released the energy in a single burst, though it could be controlled with one's mana.
That created this kind of blowtorch that had been used to cut through these Chains of Misfid.
Holding this broken Chain of Misfid up, the sly looking noble revealed a smile again almost as if he thought that he had already won.
But shaking my head, I pulled out a staff that I pointed at him.
The sly looking noble was completely caught off guard by the appearance of this staff, but he was even more surprised by the tendrils of dirt that suddenly came through the wooden floors.
However, none of these tendrils of dirt went for the sly looking noble.
Instead, it went for the females that were also in this room.
I would have liked to spare them, but since they were in the way…I had no other choice.
With the way that they guarded him, I'm sure that they had already been corrupted and broken by the sly looking noble to a certain extent. As such, there was no reason and way for me to save them.
I just used the tendrils of earth to pull them down into the ground before they could react. There wasn't a single one of them that was able to react in time, there was only time to show traces of fear in their eyes as they were pulled down.
"What is the meaning of this?" The sly looking noble dropped the chain on the ground as he took a step back in shock.
"Well, I think you already know what the meaning of this is. I was just buying time to create an alibi, or did you think that I didn't know that there were people that were gathered outside this room? They've already heard the fighting between you and Ann, so that will be enough for them to believe that it's a case of domestic violence. After all, with the way that you treat her, no one will be surprised by this."
"You…You…You can't do this!" The sly looking noble finally lost his nerve.
When I dropped all pretenses, that was when he detected the danger to his life.
And once he knew that he was in danger, he completely lost that calm facade.
I knew people like this only cared about one thing, which was their own life.
When their life was in danger, it was natural that they would act in this terrified manner.
"No one will ever know since you're all about to burn down here. So it doesn't matter what you have to say." I gave a calm nod to Ann after saying this.
As if she had been waiting for me to say this, there was a burst of flames that appeared around her.
The sly looking noble revealed an even more terrified look when he saw this before quickly saying, "You can't do this to me! My father is the one of the thirteen vice heads of the Grey Magic Tower! He won't let this go!"
Ann stopped herself when she heard this as she slowly turned back to look at me with a trace of fear in her eyes.
But I just looked at the sly looking noble and slowly revealed a smile as I said, "I've even killed someone from the Tide Empire's royal family before. Do you think that I'll be scared of someone like that?"
It wasn't just the sly looking noble that was shocked by this, even Ann was shocked by this.
I didn't care as I said to her, "Do it already."
That was what woke her up and she covered herself in flames once more.
