Afterword 

Thank you very much for purchasing The Unwanted Undead Adventurer Volume 4. 

This is the author, Yu Okano. 

It’s been a while since the previous volume, so I was a little worried. But with the fourth volume safely published, I find myself relieved. 

The manga of the series has begun as well, and chapters have already been published. I have been told that it’s been well-received, and I am very glad to hear that. 

When writing a novel, the story is only a series of mental scenes and images. But it has now become a book, with illustrations, and is now is in the process of being fully drawn out. I really started to wonder at times if the story I had written, if a single episode, would really translate well into a manga. 

Looking at the beautiful illustrations, with a high level of finish and detail, the drawings greatly exceeded my expectations. I often find myself filled with a deep respect for illustrators and mangaka. 

I never had much talent in the way of art since I was young. In fact, I was always the type who cruised by with relatively low results. I really wonder how a human being can create such intricate, detailed drawings. It’s really surprising. 

While it won’t happen right away, or even in the next year, I would like to be able to draw one day. I would like to draw something, show it to someone, and have them go, “Ah, okay, it’s something like that, I get it.” At the very least, I’d like to be able to draw easily understandable pictures like that. Maybe I should practice sometime. 

More importantly, however, properly writing my novels is really my calling and duty. Such days are perhaps a little far in the future. 

A life with many goals is a happy life indeed, and for these past few years, I feel like I have really been living life to the fullest.

Well, then, I intend to continue writing light novels from here on out. I will give it my all, and intend to do my best. I hope you will continue enjoying my work. 

If possible, I hope we will meet again in the next volume.
