Thus, into a dream’s dream’s dream
And so—there was a problem.
They had considered it but Kurumi did not think she would actually dive into Hibiki Higoromo’s mind.
“…If this was White Queen’s mind then I could destroy everything indiscriminately.”
Kurumi sighed and looked around.
It was dark but could sense that her feet were on the ground. Also, there was a faint light in the distance.
“Now, let’s go.”
This was the world within the mind. It was unknown what would happen or what she would encounter.
Anyhow, she needed to rendezvous with Hibiki Higoromo.
Kurumi started walking—naturally, with a gun in hand.
A faint light was radiating from a white door. The other side should be well-lit, light was coming out from the door. Kurumi hesitated but turned the door knob.
After stepping forth, surely enough there was—
“Here is…”
There were stuffed animals depicting cats and dogs, small vividly colored tables, a bright yellow ball and pink walls.
“A kid’s playroom…?”
“No, this is a safehouse. For humans, as a child, your playroom was essentially your world, right?”
Kurumi turned towards the familiar voice—she felt as if her jaw would fall out for real.
“Greetings, greetings. It’s been a while, Kurumi-san.”
Hibiki Higoromo was before Kurumi—but.
“…You’re Hibiki-san?”
“Probably!”
More precisely, it was young Hibiki Higoromo.
Her outfit did not change but she was half her usual height. Her estimated age was about six years old. Her glistening eyes were just like the real Hibiki Higoromo.
“Do you remember anything?”
“Mostly. But I’m struggling with tearing and gathering. I’ll be happy if you could help me.”
“Of course. Otherwise, we can’t escape from this world.”
Kurumi said as she put her arms out subconsciously.
“…Huh?”
“…Oh.”
Hibiki and Kurumi both looked at each other blankly. Hibiki grabbed Kurumi’s retreating hand.
“Thank you very much~♪”
“…Oh well, I’ll forgive you since you look young.”
Kurumi said with a bittersweet smile.
There was nothing of interest left in the playroom according to Hibiki.
“Please be careful beyond here. This world is deep in my mind after all.”
“Since we don’t know what kind of dimwitted world this is, right?”
“…Yes, well, that’s right.”
“You accepted that…”
Kurumi muttered surprisedly as Hibiki puffed out her chest.
“Really though. I don’t think of anything decent. Hehehe, there might be some suicide-inducing scenes if I do say so myself.”
“If you turn into a beast, I’m leaving you behind.”
“Immediate reply! I beg you please persist!”
“I’ll handle it as necessary, as necessary.”
“Now I’m just worried! Oh well, let’s see… what’s outside the playroom!”
Hibiki opened the door enthusiastically.
A breeze was felt just now.
“Oh.”
“It’s… Malkuth.”
“Indeed.”
It was the region where Kurumi Tokisaki and Hibiki Higoromo met. The starting point of everything.
“In that case, the destination is the school building.”
It was different to the place where they had met but the two headed to the center of the region, the school building. Due to very complicated circumstances, Kurumi Tokisaki was forced to be Hibiki Higoromo against her will.
“This is nostalgic.”
“Do you think enough time had passed to call it nostalgic?”
“It has. Even though it felt like an instant.”
Hibiki pulled on Kurumi’s hand.
“Where should we go?”
“If this place is Malkuth, where is the most memorable location?”
“…hm.”
Kurumi pondered for a while.
“Where I met Hibiki-san, where we spent our first night together and many other places. But the most memorable must have been—that classroom.”
“Yes! That’s right!”
And so, they set forth for the school. The beginning of everything.
◇◇◇
The schoolgirls passing by stared at Kurumi and Hibiki with a suspicious look. The students… who should not have been there in reality, who were granted the experience of youth, were there.
“Do you recognize them?”
“No… not at all. I mean aren’t the faces slightly blurred?”
As Hibiki said, the facial features of the girls were vague and blurred.
“It might be bad to say this but… Are they background characters?”
Listened carefully, the conversations were vague as well. It lacked proper nouns or content. Just like talking about the weather, it was a constant flow of trivial conversations.
“Our classroom should be… ah, right here.”
Kurumi opened the door Hibiki pointed at.
“—Well, well, well.”
A nostalgic group was present.
Sheri Musika, Furue Tonami, Tsuan, Panie Ibusuki, Isami Hijikata, Ayame Takashita, Aiai Nogi, False Proxy and Yui Sakagure.
They stared at Kurumi Tokisaki silently.
“Uhm. This is scary…”
“Rest assured, Hibiki-san. I’m also terrified.”
Being stared at emotionlessly was as if a robot had found them was scary as one would expect. They looked around for something else and found a doll that had fallen over.
“Ah…!”
Hibiki ran towards and picked up the doll. Kurumi recognized it’s face.
“That’s…”
“Yes. My first savior. Yue Hiryu-chan. Even in my mind’s world, she’s gone. I’m stupid, a dimwit. If I had a better memory, I could remember her better.”
Hibiki was unusually discouraged.
“If she’s not here, that means your heart has reached a resolution. That in itself is good enough, right? At least, you two were both friends to the very end.”
Kurumi tapped lightly on Hibiki’s head. It was a rare gesture from Kurumi. Hibiki blinked and laughed embarrassingly.
“…You’re right. Yes, Yue. Stay right here. It’s thanks to you that I’m still here to this day.”
She placed the doll on the table carefully.
“Now, what should we do Kurumi-san?”
“Yes… Ah, first of all, there is a person who shouldn’t be here so let’s deal with her.”
“Who shouldn’t be here… ah.”
Kurumi pointed. Indeed, that person should not have been there.
“Rook—you’re the one we met that time.”
She looked docile at first glance. A pure white girl who blended with her surroundings. Formerly known as Ruku, she was White Queen’s underling.
She stood up and made a slight smile.
“This body is for the Queen.”
“Oh, is that so?”
“Hibiki Higoromo-san is destined to become Queen’s clone. It is impossible for us but Hibiki-san can because Hibiki-san is—”
Rook held onto <Vermillion> as she said that.
“I refuse to accept that sort of nightmare.”
There was a hole in Rook’s forehead.
“…Uhm… I’m grateful you’re helping me but… shouldn’t we have listened to what she had to say first…?”
Hibiki said with scornful eyes but Kurumi shrugged her shoulders.
“I’m not interested in Hibiki-san’s past.”
“You’re so rude! Well, I wasn’t really interested either!”
Hibiki replied blankly.
“By the way, it’s all well and good shooting her… but was that the right choice?”
“It’s probably correct…”
The words came out from a higher place than before. Kurumi turned to see that the six years old Hibiki had grown to about nine years old. Her arms and legs were longer and more slender.
“…I see, you grow.”
“Seems like it. I’ll be back to normal in no time!”
“Once you go back to normal, will tampering with a random number or something cause you to turn back into a baby?”
“Don’t attempt to exploit a glitch using me! You’re scary!”
“It’s a joke, a joke.”
“Kurumi-san’s jokes are no laughing matter, they’re bad for my heart. I am slightly worried that my heart might not be moving in my mind’s world.”
“Oh… Everyone else had disappeared.”
Kurumi was reluctant to part with them. They were the first encounter and as a whole, a strong group of girls.
“Oh well, it can’t be helped. Now let’s move onto the next memory. Would the next one be of the past or a dream?”
“Is the past and a dream different?”
“Yes. This was a case of the past. The dream is… my dream so it will probably be “rough”.”
“Rough…?”
“Disordered and approximate. Like, something that I happened to be obsessed with at the time may form the basis of the dream.”
“I see. Something Hibiki-san was obsessed with.”
“Yes. something or more like a genre…”
“I have… A bad feeling about this.”
“Right?”
It was Hibiki Higoromo after all. She had no slither of combat capabilities but had many other skills. Genres which she was obsessed with were diverse, random and chaotic.
“Now, let’s move on!”
Kurumi and Hibiki opened the door of the classroom and stepped outside. The scenery had changed just now.
“Well, well…”
It was a wide open space. It was clearly indoors, inferred from the chandeliers hanging from the roof. The ornaments were large and were not of the Japanese style but foreign. The architecture was an old European design.
Dressed up females were around them. Their clothing was not from the current era but of European style from about twenty years ago… They were not Astral Dress but real dresses.
Could it have been British or French? Kurumi thought to herself doubtfully and then called to Hibiki.
“Hibiki-san is this the past? Or a dream?”
“Of… Of course… Of course a dream… Kurumi-san, I’m going to change the subject.”
“Yes, what is it?”
“Will you be angry?”
A question that only evoked a feeling of unease.
“Depends on the topic, shall I say.”
“I can feel a strange sense of unease… but try your best, Hibiki-chan! Uhm, first of all, Kurumi-san. Please check your outfit.”
“Oh.”
Not only did the scenery change. Kurumi’s usual gothic lolita dress had been changed as well.
“This… is a dress, right?”
A brilliantly colored magnificent dress. Kurumi’s normal Astral Dress was red and black but her current dress was entirely red. Crimson ribbons lined from her chest to her skirt were adorable.
“Hibiki-san, what could this—oh dear.”
On the other hand, Hibiki’s attire had changed. From a white astral dress to a navy blue blouse, white apron and a frilly headband.
“I’m a maid. I see, I see… but… this is…”
“This is what?”
“Oh, yes… For the time being I should apologize. I’m sorry.”
“I see. First of all, that means I have the permission to shoot you, right?”
“Wait, please listen a little more!”
Kurumi sighed at Hibiki who was begging for her life and—stopped as Kurumi put down her gun.
A closer look revealed that Kurumi was not holding <Zafkiel> but a fan.
“And what is this…?”
“Ah probably this is a… “Villainous Lady in a seemingly Otome game”.”
Kurumi swayed her head back and forth three times.
““Villainous Lady in a seeming Otome game”? Uhm, sorry Hibiki-san, can you speak Japanese?”
“I am speaking Japanese! Uu, you were unaware… No, I was going to tell you but the timing was…”
Kurumi requested an explanation to the lamenting Hibiki. Then a voice could be heard from above.
“—Kurumi Tokisaki!”
“…Well.”
Sure enough, it was Tsuan. Unlike Kurumi and Hibiki, Tsuan was wearing a male military uniform. The dazzling colors were white and gold which gave her a prince-like appearance.
However.
“…Tsuan-san, what’s on your face?”
“Probably because I hadn’t seen a male before…” Hibiki muttered, scratching her head.
A note saying “Representation” was stuck on Tsuan’s forehead. She was not bothered by the fact she could not see in front of herself.
“Kurumi-san is bullying me~!”
And the person clung onto Tsuan’s arm was…
That person was.
“…Uhm… you there… who are you…?”
“Mayuka Momozono! Mayuka Momozono! The person you were nasty to, Mayuka Momozono!”
“Ah, if I remember correctly… the person in Hod!”
“Yesod! At least remember that.”
“Yes…”
Kurumi thought that was unreasonable. Now that she mentioned it, such Quasi-Spirit may have existed but was promptly forgotten due to her subordinate Ruku having a stronger impact followed by a quarrel with the Queen.
Honestly, even her saying her name had Kurumi wondering “Hmm… now that you mention it… that person… may have existed… or not… did she? Oh, she did? I see…”
People associated with White Queen were currently not present. Tsuan, Mayuka Momozono, Kurumi and Hibiki. The rest were background characters.
Tsuan and Mayuka were on the dance floor at the top of the stairs. Kurumi and Hibiki were at the bottom of the stairs looking up at Tsuan.
Kurumi sighed and asked Hibiki.
“So… what is this, ultimately?”
“This is a genre they call “calling off an engagement”…”
“Huh?”
“First off, Tsuan in the role of the prince is to have her engagement called off by Kurumi-san in the villainous lady role.”
“I don’t remember being engaged.”
“…”
“Yes, yes, I’ll be quiet.”
Hibiki’s expression appealed to Kurumi not to interrupt. Kurumi had decided to shut up for now.
“Kurumi-san’s villainous qualities, rumors and accounts of bullying against the protagonist (fake) had been spread around!”
For a moment, Kurumi wanted to shoot <Zafkiel> but held back.
“Fits you perfectly!”
She decided to shoot. She pulled the trigger on the fan and a bullet was fired from somewhere.
“Uhm… For now, can you please refrain from shooting…?”
“I will use discretion~”
Hibiki coughed and continued her explanation.
“That’s why you must call off the engagement! But! As we were thoroughly prepared, Kurumi-san has to bring in the opposing arguments relentlessly, crush the Prince’s rude remarks and send the protagonist (fake) to prison.”
“…Who is that protagonist (fake)?”
“Uhm, why does this have to turn into a funny episode? In a conventional situation in an Otome game, it’s the point for the Villainous Lady to realize this.”
“…Hmm…?”
“Basically, we’re in an Otome game world… That is the setting. Kurumi-san, on top of that… uhm, ehh…”
Hibiki took a glance at Mayuka Momozono.
“Right, Mayumi-san.”
“Ma·yu·ka! You really irk me, you’re the one who brought me to this world!”
Mayuka exclaimed but gave up and clung onto Tsuan’s arm once more. Tsuan was indifferent and stood there absent mindedly.
“Mhm. So we were brought into this game world and realising that we were burdened with the antagonist’s role, we must overturn this situation?”
“As expected of Kurumi-san, the conversation moves fast!”
“…So this is the objective?”
“Well, it’s what I come up with… Ideally, achieving a “Serves you right!” ending.”
“In other words, for example—shooting to death!”
Hibiki reacted swiftly to the sound of cocking a gun. Besides, it was unknown which part of the fan made the cocking sound.
“Yes. For example, please refrain from shooting randomly and swiftly settling the problem. This is my mind’s world! Please! If you don’t go along, you probably can’t clear the objective!”
“…Understood. What shall I do?”
“Now, I will be the narrator. Please follow this script.”
Hibiki passed a script.
“Yes, yes I will.”
Kurumi cleared her throat and waited for Hibiki’s line.
“This place is the Nightmare Empire. Duke’s daughter, Prince Tsuan’s had announced that she has called off an engagement with Kurumi Tokisaki—”
“Hibiki-san, Hibiki-san. Don’t you think the impression of the Nightmare Empire is negative?”
“You shouldn’t butt in there—It doesn’t get mentioned after this—”
Hibiki replied unconcerned about Kurumi’s criticism. It was no use. Kurumi read her line from the script.
Start. Kurumi opened her fan to cover her mouth and announced.
“Well, well, what do you mean bullying? Baron’s daughter Mayuka Momozono-sama. .. eh? Do I have to put “sama” on for her? I feel unusually annoyed and boils my killing intent.”
“Prince Tsuan. It’s true, I was tormented by Kurumi Tokisaki-sama. …Hey, are you sure that person won’t shoot!? This conversation is a play right!? I’m really scared!”
“Mhm. This is a problem if it was true. If it was true that is.”
Tsuan played her Prince role effortlessly. She read her script with ease. The paper saying “Representation” was in her way so was crumpled and discarded.
“Why would I pay any attention to the Baron’s daughter like Mayuka Momozono… sama? Besides, I am your fiancé. …Hang on, what does it mean to be a fiancé?”
“Please tolerate it! Your patience please! In any case, she’s a representation of a Prince.” Hibiki begged.
Kurumi let out a big, big sigh. “I can’t be bothered,” she sighed but still nodded reluctantly.
Tsuan was a representation as Hibiki mentioned. In other words, Kurumi has to believe that she is a he. Mhm, alright. It was manageable.
She thought of a vague boyfriend and gained some will.
“Yes~ Love is free. Also, love with an already established fiancee must be made up anyway?”
“I’ll kill you, you thieving rat…” Kurumi spat out.
The tightly grasped fan was nearly broken. Believing that Tsuan was a “boyfriend”, Kurumi’s killing intent had fired up. Hibiki extinguished this in a hurry.
“Calm down, calm down for real! This person is just like nitroglycerin!”
Hibiki frantically pacified the situation and Kurumi regained her composure somehow. Mayuka was terrified and teary.
“Cough, cough. Phew… (Deep breath) …The engagement between him and I was decided by the country. It’s a serious crime to impede this. How should I put it, this is a graduation party so why would you choose Mayu something Momozono as a partner over me?”
“If you could remember Mayu something Momozono, at least remember the last bit, you brute! I’m · telling · you that you’ve been given up. Because of your ill-treatment towards me!”
“Yes, that’s right. Honestly, I am disappointed.”
“If so, please show me evidence of my ill-treatment.”
“No need. Mayuka’s statement is enough!”
“… Hibiki-san, Hibiki-san. The prince is saying something threatening.”
“Ah, this pattern is the prince turning into the enemy.”
“Huh? Enemy? Him? I can’t believe this?”
“Uhm… Your former fiance prince is all looks, he’s unintelligent and is seduced by the protagonist (fake). It’s a classical pattern…”
“Mhm, I see…”
Her voice was absurdly cold. Kurumi held up her fan like a gun ignoring Hibiki’s script and announced.
“Don’t mess around with me. Do you expect me to accept that pink-haired person’s delusion? My ill-treatment? Unbelievable. If it were up to me, I would have shot her to death. In fact, may I should her right now?”
“Scary!?”
Kurumi stepped forward and Mayuka stepped back with a frightened expression. The representation Tsuan also stepped back. Even Hibiki was afraid. Correction, very afraid.
“Kurumi Tokisaki, quieten down. You have no rights to be the daughter of a duke.”
—And so a new character had made an appearance. She appeared to be Yui Sagakure but in a smart, gallant, knight’s armor. Mayuka looked at her with dazzled eyes.
“As a knight, I cannot let you get away with your rampaging behavior!”
“Aren’t you a female ninja?”
“… Kurumi-san, Kurumi-san, that’s in reality. She’s a knight here.”
“Well. The knight leader’s son… son? You’re very violent. Your killing intent is overflowing.”
“Ku…”
Yui Sagakure groaned, mortified, and stepped back. Another person followed, a sleazy looking girl. She was also wearing male clothing.
“Oh, Rinemu-san?”
“Kurumin, have you been doing mean things to her? Disillusion!”
The sleazy Rinemu shrugged her shoulders in surprise.
“Yui-kun and Rinemu-kun.”
Mayuka Momozono was sparkling—she whispered flirtingly with a flirty smile.
“…I see. You’re both now my enemies. …Are they?”
“The knight leader’s son and the sleazy beautiful playboy! Of course they’re Kurumi-san’s enemies. They’re small fries though.”
“So disappointing. You two were excellent so it’s a shame to see you be enticed by Pink of the Dead. I’m disappointed.”
Kurumi said in a disinterested manner… she could not help it. Also, she liked the nonsensical insult, “Pink of the Dead.”
“You’ve shown your real identity you crook…! Soldiers! Capture her!”
Kurumi popped up her fan elegantly and laughed at Tsuan’s words.
“I will not let you even lay a finger on me. It will be a massacre. …No, I’ll be honest. Now it’s a war, I will massacre you. <Zafkiel>!”
The fan turned into a flintlock pistol and her rifle appeared out of nowhere and settled in the Villainous Lady’s hand.
Elegantly, bewitchingly and like a raging fire, she posed with her guns.
“Give it to her, everyone!”
And then———!
“Ok. The battle scene doesn’t matter so we’ll cut it.”
“… Hibiki-san? Are you cutting my great efforts?”
“No, but you’re definitely going to win. It’s not even a close battle so there’s no point explaining that in detail. It’s not very engaging… If anything, I can’t deny the fact it’s bullying weaklings…”
“It’s true, ridiculing the weak is…………. Not my thing.”
“Then let’s leave it at that.”
It felt like a minefield so Hibiki decided to avoid stepping into it. In any case, the soldiers instructed by the prince were annihilated. As expected, the knight leader’s son, Yui Sagakure and the sleazy boy (girl), Rinemu Kirari were both taken care of.
“Pii!? No I’m scared, really scared, I don’t want to die. No, no, no——!”
Mayuka Momozono dropped. She cried loudly and fled hastily while leaving Tsuan behind.
“Uh, uhm… I can’t believe it. I was… Deceived!?”
Tsuan said, confused. The trajectory of the story was fixed forcibly. If this were the real Tsuan, she would have fought Kurumi happily. In that sense, this Tsuan was a completely different person.
“I misunderstood you. Forgive me!”
“No. I will definitely not forgive you.”
“T- that’s… Uu, Kurumi Tokisaki!”
With a shocked expression, Tsuan turned translucent.
“Gya, she’s disappearing! Kurumi-san, Kurumi-san, cover, cover!”
“…Prince, do you still love me?”
“Of course!”
“In that case,” Kurumi said with a slight smile and moved towards the prince.
“Kneel before me and beg for forgiveness. Otherwise—”
“I will kneel and beg for forgiveness!”
Tsuan promptly yielded.
“… Ah, I’m narrating. Uhm, and so the Nightmare Empire welcomed Kurumi Tokisaki as the empress. She brought peace for eternity and they lived happily ever after…”
Clapping and cheering came from somewhere. Kurumi turned her antique gun back into a fan and sighed in relief.
“I have many complaints, but it was reasonably fun. How about you Hibiki-san?”
“Of course, I enjoyed it! Goodness, Villainous Lady Kurui-san was so cool!”
The “villainous” part irritated Kurumi slightly but the “cool” part was honest so she giggled and said, “that’s disrespectful to the empress.”
Hibiki also giggled while scratching her head apologetically.
“But if Kurumi-san is the empress, the empire will be a funny, strange dystopia in many ways. Putting that aside… Oh, the next door opened, Kurumi-san!”
Hibiki and Kurumi turned back to find a massive metal door resembling a castle gate.
“I would like the next to be the past. Nothing good comes from the dreams.”
“Sorry for the unsightly dreams…”
“Your motive?”
“I saw Kurumi-san as a Villainous Lady so I don’t mind!”
Kurumi noticed something as she attempted to strike Hibiki on the head lightly.
“Oh, you’ve grown taller again.”
As Kurumi said, Hibiki’s height had grown. Her arms and legs became slender and in addition, her body became more womanly.
“Ah, you’re right. Hmm, I guess I’m about thirteen years old?”
“… Fumu.”
“You’re going to say you’re disappointed or something again. I know it!”
“No, not at all.”
“Eh…? By that you mean, it’s Kurumi-san’s way of showing affection and implying my normal self is super cute?”
“… No, the content is the same. It’s getting bothersome so I want you to quickly return to normal so I can retort easily.”
“That’s not affection! That’s fine, hmph! I’ll quickly grow up and outgrow you!”
“Yes, yes.”
Kurumi smiled modestly. Ah, this was it. This conversation calmed her down, stimulated her and occasionally called upon something different to attachment.
Kurumi both liked and avoided this. This was an emotion that she wished to avoid. This emotion would eventually turn into a burning flame and a poison within her. She had a vague prediction.
In any case, the door opened. Kurumi and Hibiki arrived at Yesod.
In front of them was the Dominion of Yesod and S-rank idol, Mizuha Banouin. She laughed boldy and shouted into the microphone.
“Please battle here through singing!”
As expected, Kurumi’s clothing had changed to an idol Astral dress.
“Bring it on.”
Kurumi started singing once more. She pulled Hibiki forcibly who was watching attentively and Hibiki’s clothing had changed into a similar idol Astral Dress.
Hibiki was not spectacular but decent at singing. “I wanted to be at the back as a producer!” Hibiki grumbled.
The next door was another dream of Hibiki Higoromo’s.
“You would like me to resolve a mysterious murder case in a place resembling a women’s quarter?”
“In general, yes!”
“The situation is really detailed… Say, Hibiki-san.”
Kurumi sighed as she looked at herself in the mirror wearing an Oiran dress.
“I think you’re misinterpreting culture.”
“You think so? I thought that if Kurumi-san looked erotic and beautiful, it would be fine?”
Hibiki said unregretfully. Incidentally, the culprit of this mysterious murder case was the Shōgun (Again, Tsuan was playing the role).
Past the next door was Binah without the Queen’s presence.
Kurumi fought ruthlessly against the countless assaulting Empties, all having the Queen’s face. The reason for the weak opponents was due to Hibiki’s wish, “I want to see Kurumi-san in an active role.”
“It’s refreshing to act violently… <Zafkiel> is also delighted.”
“Kurumi-san, That’s something a savage tribal man would say! Course correction, course correction!”
Kurumi cleared her throat hurriedly. She realised what she had said and wondered the same thing.
“Truly… Fighting is vain. I hate fighting.”
Kurumi made an unhappy expression and Hibiki faltered.
“You course corrected too much and now it’s scary… You were fighting with absurd enjoyment, Kurumi-san.”
“… Now, let’s move forth to the next door. Hibiki-san’s body is now back to normal.”
“Yes!” Hibiki chirped.
And so, the two opened the next door.
“Ah.”
Hibiki let out her voice instinctively. They were at Malkuth once more. However, the location was different. At least, it was not a familiar location to Kurumi.
“Ah… Ahh, here we are. This is the final place.”
Hibiki who had completely returned to normal, kneeled down as if the location was nostalgic. Kurumi tilted her head. Hibiki gazed at the area with nothing but walls and fences.
“What is this place…?”
“It’s where I first met you.”
“Oh.”
Kurumi was a wanderer who fell from the other world to the Neighboring World. She met with Hibiki Higoromo here and Hibiki made her “decision”.
“I became Kurumi Tokisaki here—”
“I became Hibiki Higoromo here.”
Hibiki needed power for revenge. Kurumi followed to look for a reason to live.
And so began a long, long journey.
Kurumi and Hibiki turned towards a tapping sound of someone walking. —They both gulped slightly.
“For some reason, I don’t feel like surrendering?” In front of them was a fake—Kurumi Tokisaki.
“Please, give up.” In front of them was a fake—Hibiki Higoromo.
“I won’t allow it. And I will put an end to this right here.” The real—Kurumi Tokisaki declared.
And Hibiki Higoromo leaped over the three’s thoughts… concepts and recognition.
“How should I put this, give me the Queen’s powers.” Hibiki declared, narrowing her eyes at the figure across from her.
…There was a long silence. The Kurumi next to her turned dumbfoundedly, the copy in front of her stopped after hearing such insolence.
“Huh? Me, I think you’re saying something weird? Since, it would be a waste if this power wasn’t useful to Kurumi-san.” The fraudulent Hibiki informed calmly.
“—Well, you’re right…” Kurumi did not know whether to laugh or be in shock. Anyhow, she sighed deeply at the bold concept.
“Well, I’ll be aiming too high if I wanted to take White Queen’s power entirely. However, I want a little bit of her physical strength, Angel and her Dress—”
Cutting Hibiki off, the two fakes started their assault.
They could not endure it.
“<Zafkiel>!” “<Zafkiel>!”
“<King Killing>!” “What, you can use that!?”
“Can’t you use it!?” Kurumi exclaimed. The fight had begun—
